Potentially yes but you have to account for the fodder and cover that ignorance of the followers not allowed to read the text. It is a sick plan and if tptb were fishing then they could feed the world. In other words I feel the same way I did yrs ago when I joined the site. A peaceful muslim is a bad muslim.

www.abovetopsecret.com...

It is just what the text of the religion states and ignorance of the text is what is used to promote recruitment.

As far as the vetting process I myself would do the same job as those vetting them but even I would fail because one can not vet a spirit.

Let us also be clear that step one is to spread the religion across the globe and into the institutions and into the governments.

vetting relies on known terror list and past behavior but there is no way to know for sure what is waiting in the hearts.

Well, I completely disagree with you in assuming Islam is a religion of terror and that 2 billion people are terrorists.

well I guess I dis agree with my self too.

the way I see it really is that the majority are not terrorist but mere cannon fodder.
they supply cover for the actionable ones chosen to jihad against humanity in a bid to not rule the world but to end the world. like I said in that thread i linked it is not that they are all directly involved in terrorism but that if they are not terrorist then they are bad muslims.

Do I have any experience? As a matter of fact I do. I served with special operations in the Middle East for the USN working in military intelligence from 2001-2005.

Thanks for your service

Completing a background check on Syrians is obviously a challenge but compared to vetting refuges from Afghanistan where record keeping is no where near on par to that of Syria. The U.S. has been taking refugees from all over the Middle East since 9/11 and so far so good. Would a terrorist actually think they'll be successful in eluding both the UN and U.S. vetting process and sneak into the states? They'd have a better chance of recruiting a U.S. Citizen online than posing a Syrian refugee.

Nah, I think that they have just as much a chance of recruiting a U.S. citizen online as they do sneaking in as a refugee, and there's plenty of evidence of radicalization of our citizens via online terrorist rhetoric.

Did I open the OP slinging insults? What insult exactly, being called a bigot? There are clearly bigots in all walks of life and most definitely here on ATS. I've read their posts and the fact the Skeptic Overlord had to create a thread to curb the hate and ignorance only solidifies my position. Are you insulted because you're a bigot, afraid, misinformed, or uniformed?

Ha, no, but I see generalizations and assumptions being tantamount to ignorance in and of itself, so when I see an OP open with that tone, it both frustrates and irritates me--it is an insult because it implies that you see everyone that way who has a particular "side" of a topic, disregarding their reasoning as to why they feel as they do.

I did see that thread from SkepticOverlord, and I'm happy to say that I stay off of ATS on the weekends, so I missed all of the apparent racist and bigoted inappropriate comments. But in having opened your OP the way that you did, for someone who missed that party of idiocy that seems to have occurred, you might be able to see why it frustrated and insulted me, personally.

Vetting is a long hard process and not everyone is accepted. So far, via our vetting process we have had no refugees commit any acts of terror. Since 9/11, there have been 3 refugees arrested for terrorist related activities but from what I've read about them there were not a significant threat to the U.S. because they were bumbling wanna be's.

Well, I guess they're all bumbling wannabes, until they're not :/

So what's to stop some of them to just go to Mexico, then cross the border just like thousands do in the first place?

If a terrorist really wanted to get in I'm sure they wouldn't just walk through the front door, right?

Why go to all that trouble when they can just be imported

You as well

Clearly IS has had success luring the misguided to join their side since citizens from all over the western world have been joining their ranks. So they'll have a higher chance of creating a domestic terrorist than sneaking many in as refugees.

The bigotry and pure stupid doesn't begin or end on the weekends here on ATS. This past weekend was filled with extra stupid because of the Paris attacks and continues to this very moment.

Wow. You REALLY love your conclusions, and jumping...don't you?

There's enough of those problems HERE...ALREADY.

We need to help our own first. We owe them that, before we take in more.

So obviously you're making the assumption that each and every one of these refugees are unskilled uneducated impoverished neanderthals incapable of anything other than making babies and bowing towards mecca five times a day, and therefore will do nothing but bleed the system ?

Far be it that arab countries might actually produce doctors, lawyers, engineers, scientists, carpenters, accountants, plumbers, electricians, machinists, welders, nurses, chefs, IT specialists, entrepreneurs....

Apparently all of these people coming from the middle east have spent their entire lives sitting around sipping on turkish coffees and sucking on the hose of a hookah.

You know we are constantly taking in refugees from all over the world right? Espeically from Middle Eastern nations we helped destabilize?

I'll say this slowly so it'll be easy for you to follow, digest, and understand.

PLEASE. RE-READ. WHAT. I. SAID. WITHOUT. YOUR. FILTERS.

But otherwise, thanks for the chuckle

And....

Somehow you seem to think I believe we should only be applying a closed door policy to Syrians?

Honestly...if you have questions...better to ask them than to make assumptions.
