Historically speaking, Islamic nations have been extremely territorial and have fought many wars over little more than philosophical difference in Islamic interpretation. That probably plays a big role here.

That is very true. The infighting between the refugees is terrible. Still, with so many largely muslim nations there must be someplace they would fit in better than say Sweden...or Indiana...

It would be interesting to know how many on that list refused to take Jews who where fleeing Nazi Germany ?

It would be interesting to know how many liberals believe Jews were blowing #### up every single day, decapitating children and sticking their heads on poles, or burning people alive in cages.

Anyone?

It doesn't go into graphic detail but ........

The Polish-Jewish historian and the Warsaw Ghetto archivist Emanuel Ringelblum has described the cruelty of the ghetto police as "at times greater than that of the Germans, the Ukrainians and the Latvians."[4] The fate of many of the Jewish Policemen was eventually the same as all other ghetto Jews. Upon the liquidation of the ghettos (1942-1943) they were either murdered on site or sent to the extermination camps. However, some of the more active criminals, especially those associated with the Zagiew network, are known to have survived the War

Are you saying we should have taken in German refugees during WWII? What about Japanese?

Exactly. Especially if my wife and kids were going to a strange country where they probably aren't going to be welcomed by everyone. To hell with my country, I'd want to be with them to protect them from harm with all the prevalent hate and prejudice going around.

take women and children only and wipe out ISIS with a full on ground offensive.
should be finished in a matter of weeks and will be cheaper than years of bombing.
then send the refugees home.
problem solved.

The U.S. did take in German Refugees during WW II. The Jews from Germany where still Germans where they not?

There are good and bad in every race of people. Trying to classify all Syrian Refugees as " bad " ( like some have done on here ) is not only ridiculous but shows how un-educated some people are.

Look at is this way:

Our wonderful leader, king obama, says we should take in 10,000 syrian/muslim refugees and find them homes.

There are currently more than 300,000 homeless veterans on the streets in this country and the number is growing. Why doesn't king obama want to find homes for them?

Because that is socialism and a bill doing such would never pass a republican congress. Is it the right thing to do? Absolutely.

Got any sauce for that BS sandwich?

How many veterans are homeless? While only 8% of Americans can claim veteran status, 17% of our homeless population is made up of veterans. In 2010, the Department of Veteran Affairs (VA) estimated that on any given night there were 76,000 homeless veterans sleeping on American streets. sauce

If it is the right thing to do then king obama should do it. He takes up the pen like a sword whenever it pleases him. Why not do it for our veterans?

I don't think you will find many republicans who would try to stop legislation that would provide homes for homeless American veterans. Any you do find should be voted out as soon as possible.

I'd rather not worry about it. I'd rather defer to the fact that almost no terrorist attacks in the west are performed by Muslims and stick to those guns.

But ----
why, then, are so many people supporting the GOP 'contenders' for POTUS who want to gut all government programs that help the needy and disenfranchised, the veterans and unemployed, the sick and elderly;

and who (the contenders) also want more war and also want to allow and enable corporations and the rich to not have to pitch in?

I'd bet that all you'd have to do was tell a Republican that such a program was Socialist and they'd drop that issue so quick it'd make your ears ring. Even better if Obama was trying to push for such a program.

Didn't Native Americans do the same thing?

We should just concur them and destroy their culture and heritage.

Any program that goes through Congress would be tied to an pork barrel list.

Republicans should always vote NO on those but they don't

If the veterans got something, then the Syrians would too.

Both would vote to the increasing Powers that Be.

The National Alliance to End Homelessness based the findings of its report on numbers from Veterans Affairs and the Census Bureau:

2005 data estimated that 194,254 homeless people out of 744,313 on any given night were veterans.

In all of 2006 495,400 veterans were homeless at some point during the year.

Numbers for chronic homeless are less but the number is increasing, mainly due to the lack of healthcare including treatment for PTSD available to veterans returning from combat. I will find more current data when time permits but it is there for you to find as well.

Concur them? The current situation. Doesn't seem so.

Destroy their culture and heritage . . .

Please tell me how you would solve this problem.

Well, that is party politics. I can see democrats abandoning our veterans with or without king obama but I believe republicans would be more likely to pass that legislation. Even though it is likely that if republicans passed it, it would automatically be vetoed by king obama just because the republicans voted for it.
