We've seen quite a few threads on Trump. Why he's popular, how good or bad he is, why people shouldn't trust him, etc. But, he's still there, still a force to be dealt with and there's reason for that.
All the other Republican and many of the Democrats, are saying what they've always said. Just like Gilligan they promise "This, that and the other thing", with no substance.
Just like Obama did in his campaign, Trump is promising Change. Just like Obama, he's telling us what we want to hear.
Trump is telling the little guy that he is on our side. That he is just as tired of the corruption and business as usual attitude in Washington as we are and is willing to help. Millions are frustrated by the Federal government's lack of enforcement when it comes to illegal immigration and Trump has capitalized on that. He promises to make corporations and the rich pay more taxes, to remove the burden from the middle class. [ What little is left of the middle class ]
Basically, he's hitting on a few key things the American people are frustrated over and saying "Hey, I'll help you fix it".
And it's working. According to ABCnews, Trump is the top pick right now, beating out Biden and Hilary.

Now, would it be so terrible if he became President? No worse than Obama. Obama had/has no experience with business and very little in politics when he ran. Trump has a huge amount of business experience and much more political savvy than a small time community organizer and short term Senator. He may have some wacky ideas, but he can't do them all by himself, anymore than Obama has. He's tried. Oh, he's tried. That famous "pen and phone" has got him what he wanted a few times and he still tries with the steamroller tactics, but he's mostly kept in check.
Now, to tell the truth, I'm really not a Trump fan. But for all those folks who are screaming he's bad for the country....So was Obama. He had no experience and should never have been elected as President and has fumbled his way through 2 terms, dividing and bankrupting a nation as he goes.
Obama promised Change.
Trump is promising Change.
How is Trump any worse?
Because he's a Republican?

This coming election will be my 11th president, I have watched a majority of them all speak during there debates, I guess the only reason I believe why Trump is hitting it off with a lot of voters is because he is saying it like it is, he speaks his mind even though he knows it may offended others. He is not a career politician nor a lawyer, and when was the last time a candidate came out and said he don't want to take any money from lobbyist because he don't want to owe anyone any favors if he is elected. I in all the years never heard candidates ever mention the word lobbyist when they were campaigning

I rather have someone honest to themselves run for president and speak there minds, we all do that why can't they, which reminds be when Bush #2 was running, he came out an admitted he had a drinking problem, I believe it was with Jack Daniels, and what is funny is you never heard of it again, but I always wonder if Jack Daniels supported his campaign back in the days.

That's one of the things I do like about him. He comes out and says what he means. No coddling of the PC crowd, no mercy and if the truth hurts, well, it just hurts. And the PC crowd hates that.

I would like to see Donald in as president for two reasons that I can think of right off the top of my head.
1. He is a successful business man. I think we need this type of person to turn this country around.
2. Career politicians, never ever do what they promise. They are untrustworthy. Career politicians have ruined this countries laws and got us in the mess we are in now.

Most people I talk to, figure we are screwed no matter who we elect, thus Trump. The United States government does everything to advance the so called One World Government and people are realizing that will mean the end of our sovereignty.

Reasons?

They are sick and tired of Progressives being thought police and Political Correctness and Trump is the first person in the political spot light with the balls to stand up to them and NOT apologize.

You also nailed it with using his own money so that he doesn't owe any debt by legislating favors to those with enough money to buy political favor. Does that mean Trump will do or even be able to do what he is saying? Off course not! But most people realize at this point regardless of party, things sure as hell haven't gotten any better in this country the past few decades.

Funny thing? Most of the people I know are Democrats!

One thing the Progressive left forgets? When they bash Christians, and attack law abiding gun owners? The are also attacking MANY Democrats! So in a way? I hope the Progressive left keep on screaming "Racist" and attacking people for saying words that "THEY" deem not PC. Every person they are pissing off seems to be leaning to giving Trump a toss in the political cesspool we call government.

Either way? I am preparing for the worst no matter who is elected! Anyone who is against the Elite who are pushing for a One World Government, will surely be eliminated. I guess some are too young to remember what happened to JFK?

Trump is the ONLY option this go around to break the norm. That is one big reason so many like myself like him. Is he a perfect ideal candidate? No.

Is he better than the other presented candidates? Yes.

Clinton, Bush, Trump.

Clinton - iraq, nafta
Bush - iraq/afghanistan, patriot act
Trump - 4 bankruptcies

I'll waste my vote and not use it before I use it for a Bush or Clinton.

I do think him being a business man is important. We have to find a way to get companies back to the US and grow the job market. I should qualify by saying "I'm not a Trump fan.....yet." He does have some good qualities, but I'm too old to fall for a knee jerk reaction. I never pick a candidate this early, so....we'll see.

People like Trump because of the way he talks. They like that he is not-"pc" and that he uses all the key words, phrases and propaganda that appeals to the brainwashed.

Look at the way some of you talk. Can you not see the pattern that shows you've been manipulated to believe and think a certain way? Trump capitalizes off of that and that is why he appeals so much to so many.

He has absolutely no plans or policies put together for the voters to compare with other candidates. You like him simply because of what he says. That's important....just what he says.

Also, the US government is not a business, nor should it be ran like one. I don't know whom originally said it but "that which is profitable, is not always socially responsible. And that which is socially responsible is not always profitable". The government is not designed to be ran like a business, is not designed to profit and throwing a businessman in to the White House will not fix our problems.

Yes, Americans will vote to be entertained rather than vote to be governed.

Democrats should put up a real Housewife of LA.

Same resume as Trump.

-Millionaires.

-Self Absorbed Narcissists.

-Reality Stars.

America is on its way to the Hunger Games, The elections will become a reality TV show in the 2 next decades if voters keep lapping this up. Watch the candidates during their campaigns via manipulated media coverage.

I can see the ratings now.

Who's to say you're not brain washed and believing propaganda?

All we can do right now is hypothesize what is happening and what is going to happen. It's not like any of us little people actually have a clue as to our governments true intent is it?

Odd how if people who don't believe as you do, they are brain washed and believe in propaganda isn't it?

As far as I can tell those in Washington who are supposedly intelligent and educated don't have a clue as to how to Govern this country? Either that or they are just corrupt to the core?

the US government is not a business

In a sense it is otherwise, why do we have the Government Finance and accounting, Government Budget Office, Office of Management and budget and so on.

These are all the same type of entities in all business everyone needs to know where the money is coming from, who is getting the money, what are plans to raise money ect, the government needs to manage OUR money like a business, maybe those wasteful spending projects like a "Deer underpass" would of not be spent if the government was ran like a business, if I had a dime for every time I spent my company's money where our account would always say "we are not like the government with a endless check book" I would be a rich man.

It's easy to tell. Look at what I type and find the patterns that show whether or not I am. Look at your post:

"progressives"
"thought police"
"political correctness"
"Christians"
"firearms"
"race"

Honestly, you've provided an excellent illustration of what I am talking about. Most of the people in the extreme right wing talk that way. No individual thought. No critical thought. Just regurgitation of the same dogma, over and over.

It's that dogma that Trump is taking advantage of and appealing to. He knows what the GOP likes to hear and so he's giving it to you. Then you wonder why we hear all these people say things like "I like the way he talks".

Ya, because he talking in a way that triggers the garbage that has been pounded in to your heads. It's pretty damn obvious.

Do those words offend you?

Is it wrong to say any of those words you singled out?

Perhaps to you they are because they describe what you believe in?

If so then too bad! I won't be dictated by anyone what I can think or what I am allowed to say to be accepted into society and the herd mentality of politics.

If in your eyes that makes me a Conservative, then so be it! Been called much worse in my life.

I guess I'll continue to believe in my propaganda and you can believe in your propaganda?

Isn't freedom grand?

No.

Hardly.

You already have been dictated and manipulated, but it wasn't me or any Leftist propaganda that did it. Your post indicates that you are already part of a particular herd mentality.

If in your eyes that makes me a Conservative, then so be it! Been called much worse in my life.

What I am talking about has very little to do with conservatism. The GOP and the extreme right know nothing about true conservatism.

I guess I'll continue to believe in my propaganda and you can believe in your propaganda?

When your entire ideology is based off of rhetoric and propaganda, you are not free.

Lol, you point out the right, all the while ignoring the fact fact you are a Lefty of near zealot status.

I have read many of your posts, you are just as indoctrinated, but by the absolute insanity of the left.

At least the righties make some manner of sense in their dogma.

The lefts is complete insanity.

And how does a business run?

To increase profits for the top echelon and their shareholders.

We already have that! We have puppet politicians coming out millionaires and their masters, the shareholders aka special interests coming out more wealthy as well while the rest of the country gets crapped on.

Is Trump going to boot out all the Crony Capitalists in DC?

He is (Obama 2.0 - Hope and Change)

He talks the talk to sucker people in, but he will be serving those in his circle rather than the American People.

I'm a socialist with no connections or desires to be so with the American Left. They are not Leftists. They are Lite-Republicans.

Are we really going to go the way of "I know you are but what am I"? What have I said or posted that would indicate I am indoctrinated by some Leftist propaganda?

I am a free thinking individual and I do not follow a strictly Leftist ideology. I am very pro-2nd amendment, for example. I get to choose what I want to believe because I don't let the media or others affect my opinion. That is what research is for.

At least the righties make some manner of sense in their dogma.

Not really. This is the party and ideology that wants to build a wall to keep people out (on both borders), and keep us in, deport millions of people, deny people their individual liberty based on their sexual preference or religion, think Obama is a Kenyan Muslim and that we should march our military across the globe for the sake of world domination.

The Left? They have helped do all those things.

True Leftists work for equality under the law, gay rights, racial injustice and workers rights. To someone that believes in the things I described above those things may appear insane.

Our wonderful government has managed to make “Everything about our lives.....Political”! Democrats and Republicans BOTH!

Sexuality, Religion, Health, Food, Education, Family and to be honest? It's pretty damn hard to think of ANYTHING that they haven't managed to politicize. We have so many tribes they have managed to divide us on so many levels and intruded in our lives to the point that on a daily basis we look to them to create what? MORE LAWS, to solve the problems they created by intruding in our lives?

We were warned this would happen.

Do I believe Trump will save us? Hell no, but at this point we will burn anyways......

Anyhow, take it however you want.

You and I will most likely never see eye to eye anyways........
