Alexander said that the officers had not been given a street address, but went to a home matching the description given by a 911 caller who made the initial report. When the officers went around the back of the house, they found the back door and screen door were unlocked, leading them to believe that someone had broken in.

What kind of Barney Fife crap is this?

They don't have an address, but a "description" of the house? "Well, this house has a door, and a lawn, and a roof..a driveway, it's brick, it MUST be the one." (Zoom out to reveal many other identical houses). SMH.

And that the doors were simply unlocked but no signs of forced entry so they therefore *assume* it was a break in and enter???? "Well, the door *WAS* unlocked." Was it open? Were there signs of forced entry? Did you hear suspicious sounds inside? Then you have NO right to enter. That makes no sense.

Who the hell are these idiot Dekalb PD officers?? This belongs in bizarro world.

Also, it must now be SOP to kill dogs these days...

Jesus Christ...

Why is it our police must sneak into private homes in the wee hours of the morning often killing dogs harming family members and in some cases ending up with officers shot by surprised home owners?

If they have a case against someone they would not have to do this, if they have no real case and are in hopes of finding a few grams of drugs that could be flushed down the crapper one has to question whether a search warrant was justified.

Doesn't it make more sense to surround the home, announce their presence and demand the suspect come out? If the suspect does not come out they could enter the home after it is claimed to be empty of humans and pets, if the suspect does not come out they could enter the home to search for the subject.

Safety first, not gun play first and then sort it out!
