I've noticed that, after a short period of time, dogs start to respond to You Little Git.

No idea why... unless they heard it somewhere

My dog, Jimmy, responds to pretty much everything and anything. In fact, a friend was here a few weeks ago and kept calling him Otto, which is her cat's name. Jimmy was more than okay with being Otto for the night.

It's all about the tone you use, really.

As for name suggestions... since we're here on ATS and its motto is Deny Ignorance, how about... Dinah? Stretching as hell, I know... but I kinda like names that come from Hebrew, so... sorry...

No its not!!

It's about whether they like the name or not...(don't disillusion me)

Thinking about this:

Chiyo

I think that is it..

Plus, I can pretend that I am doing an ancient chant of some sort while I call her...I like to keep the neighbors wondering..

"Chee....yo!....Chee..ee..ee yo!"

Perfect

We think along the same lines when it comes to names. I had an Australian Shepard named Maggie. I had 3 goats named Amy, Emily, and Natalie. Amy thought she was a dog. I love the name Cara.

She does look like a Chiyo.

Thank you..I still have a couple more days..but I believe she'll be sticking around

So very happy to have her..Thank you guys for helping me out and keeping your fingers crossed. I think I would've went crazy if I didn't know you all were here "waiting it out" with me..

I appreciate the support..

Now, I wonder what would follow me home if I went running in the other direction....

Thanks again,

Oh, well didn't mean to jump the gun!

Good to hear you are getting a name down.

I ended up always just calling my pup bubs, even tho her name was nikki.

This is her stealing my chair.

she's adorable!

You were not jumping the gun...I was...I was the one asking for help with naming her

Finding it hard to be patient..figured it was close enough to the ten days at least to think about it.

And ty for helping..I really mean it..kept my mind off of her leaving and kept me calm while the days passed..

Ya she is a cutie for sure.
Had to give her up when I moved, couldn't have a dog here. but she went to a good home with some friends.

And ya no problem, I don't ever mind talking about our four legged friends!

i dunno about an ancient chant - you've got me thinking of the Banana Boat Song:

Chee yo! Chee ee ee yo! - Chee yo come cos me wan' go hoooome

I think it has a nice ring to it. On the downside, I've got that song going round in my head at the moment...

You mean this one?

Not trying to reinforce the earworm you currently have or anything nefarious like that ...

2 things.

1. Just be patient, put out food and water, don't raise your voice or make sudden movements. Almost ignore her until she comes to you. She will.

2. 10 mile run? I only run if from something or to something.

Good luck with your extended family.

She is doing well..I don't think she will ever "fatten up". She is a hard, cold, killer of small animals. ( more like she chases them around just to annoy them)

But, as soon as her new wardrobe gets delivered and I get her nails painted..I'm sure that she will stop that nonsense.

Wouldn't want to chip a nail...

All joking aside ( am I joking? you'll never know)

I'll snap some photos later this week and post them.

Thanks!
