believe it or not i know the man, and have had many conversations with him. his park Dinosaur Adventure Land was just about a mile from my shop. he use to bring in motors, tools and equipment to be repaired.

he's not as bad as some make him out to be, he can be sort of a smart alec. but some of the stuff he talks about mirrors what some scientist say.

i remember one day talking with him about why some dinosaurs got so big. and he said the same thing scientist say, high oxygen,CO2 and temperature were higher during the jurassic period. i also seem to remember him saying that when the continents broke up that's when the flood happened, because sea levels changed because of water released from below the earth and increase in rainfall during the what was the start of the jurassic period.

i can't remember all we talked about, it's been almost six years since i closed my shop and that was before all his IRS trouble started.

like i said other than his being able to be a smart alec from time to time he was a likeable man back then.

he tried to skirt the currency reporting laws, plain and simple...he had a jury trial, and he was only convicted on one charge...might want to dial this back a little....he wasn't doing god's work by not following those laws, and god did not get him out of jail, the prosecution wasn't able to make a good enough case to the jury on the other charges.

plane and simple. 10 years, murder gets less, drug peddling, you know crimes that are somewhat nastier, seems wrong to me

Kent Hovind wasn't put in jail for what he said, he was put in jail for what he did. He broke the law by evading taxes. This is a perfect example of a "persecution complex". Let's ignore what the guy actually did wrong and instead focus on what the bible says about persecution. If you evade taxes, you're arrested, no matter what you preach.

Nearly 1600 IRS employes (Not Sharpton or Jackson or government or politicians or buddies in the buddy system) just in the IRS sector alone has done as bad and even worse.

It seems as though you are confusing the word evidence with the word proof. Evidence is not proof and proof is not evidence. There is more evidence in support of evolution than there is evidence in support of the creation account in Genesis, but there is no proof per se of either. Evolution has the entire fossil record containing thousands if not millions of different fossils and species, the creation account in Genesis has... well, itself. That's it.

Without evidence you have no proof. Proof is the direct result of evidence. If you have proof then you have already had evidence. Therefore proof is indeed evidence submitted to establish proof and with out evidence you can have no proof. You also need to re evaluate your saying that proof is not evidence.

I suppose I should offer a little more insight in to our interaction. At the time I was a student at Pensacola Christian College and Dr. Horton (the founder) told us as students we were not allowed to associate with Hovind. That is because he was preaching in his ministry that it was a christians obligation to not pay taxes because they were being used to fund public education, which taught evolution. Apparently he missed the part about "give unto Caesar what is Caesar's" . PCC students have a very strict dress to adhere to, so we were easily identified as students and he thought I was setting him up so I could run back to Dr. Horton and tell him that bad Mr Hovind talked to me.

Of course it's hypocritical, that doesn't surprise me at all, it still doesn't take away the fact that Kent Hovind was guilty of the charges against him. He should have been arrested, justice was served.

I have read and continue to read. I've been looking into Ancient Sumerian Texts recently and how they relate to genesis...I read multiple evolution and science blogs. You have the same books and resources available to you as I do. Why is it that we have a difference in opinion on Evolution? I still think it's a great theory and the best we have...much better than Dinosaurs on the Ark and God Created the Earth in seven days.

Hovind has debated many scientists teachers and panels and he has run rings around them, in most cases making them look foolish, ignorant and petulant.
Its very funny to see how much anger he can stir up just by challenging a persons belief with hard solid evidence and proof

I agree, Hovind has little knowledge in the area of evolution while the people he is debating have much knowledge in that area, which is usually why he is the one made a fool of. You can't properly debate something you don't understand, and Hovind does not understand evolution.
