Everyone has grand ideas on how we should live and nobody has a clue how to get there.

I remember a conversation I had with someone here about how some project similar to the fascist utopia Peter Joseph flogs in one of his videos os merely trading my survitude from one master to another. He claimed that scientists and engineers should be the ones running the show. I asked how he planned to pay me to build his lab and fresh ideas for him and will it be of more value than Frank down the street who will pay me to build things that pollute.

Whi decides what I build? The market or some dictator of science and engineering?

I'm not saying Frank is right but how are you going to stop me from working for him?

Yes, crime rates would go down across the globe
while personal happiness would go up.

Wonderful.

...but there are always unintended consequences
to any central authority---chiefly the loss of liberty

We're losing liberty every day in our corrupt corporate system, I fail to see how Joseph's could be worse?

I'll trust the scientists over corporations any day.

Trust does not feed my family. How is a scientist going to build his sustainable machines and infrastructure?

I will trust my dog and traps before I trust a scientist. Or is that not allowed by the science dictators? Sustainable traps? Can I eat meat?

We go from here to a resource based economy step by step, domain of activities by domain of activities, starting from all domains of activities that support our survival. We take food production out of the market system and we use latest technologies to produce an abundance in this domain. Then we take another domain like energy production and we slowly move it out of the market, etc.. Until everyone realise the market is not useful anymore and is a thing of the past.

It is not "centralized" blablabla "communist" blabla "fascist" blabla "dictatorship".

And people today who think they are free are brainwashed, slaves who don't realise they are slaves.

First off, I am neither for nor against this idea, until I have more information; although after watching the interview it sounds like actually evolving to me, at least when compared to our current state of humanity.

I do hope that more people will "deny ignorance" and watch the video whilst really considering the implications of such changes, rather than automatically believing the rhetoric, propaganda or going to sci-fi movies for their reasons as to why this cannot happen.

Thanks for the video Jesse, I appreciate the people who are thinking of HOW things can change, instead of why they mustn't...we need more people considering the alternatives.

The pluses that I've gleaned from the interview:

-->Resources are running out (and yes I agree they are being controlled; however a resource-based economy will seemingly end that control).

-->Built-in obsolescence will be phased out. No more tvs built to break in 2-3 years, for example - thus saving massive amounts of resources on everything being built to last, not to mention lessening waste. We could do this now but for corporations desire for never-ending profits, which will see the entire planet losing in the end.

-->Ensures sustainability, managing resources and good public health.

-->ALL humans will benefit from this system, and this slave economy will be but a memory - freedom to pursue your interests as well.

OR we can continue to be the barbarians we are currently behaving as, in order to pursue more money, money, money. We are cats chasing our tails right now, when we need to be thinking about other options.

Refuse to listen to the doom and gloomers and the naysayers fear-mongering about even the mere idea of a resource-based economy. Eschew labels, because we are at the mercy of them today. Rise above the divisions currently separating people from each other.

This system could potentially benefit all, and hurt no one, except possibly those excessively greedy for money or power. The world can stand for them to come back to reality and live amongst us all.

The Zeitgeist Movement Defined

Free book (pdf), can't ask for more than that. At least give it the benefit of the doubt and read it critically...change begins with those who think outside of their pre-constructed paradigms.

Yep,

We are somewhat already at the front door of the whimper stage(subtle whining and apathy has begun to set in)...then the wailing begins-1-5 degrees of intensity. Makes that movie World War Z look like Heaven, Utopia, Paradise.

Since you mentioned propaganda...

Zeitgeist was created for one purpose: to distort reality and lead people AWAY from the Truth. PERIOD.

Zeitgeist can be proven to be--at best--a ridiculous & un-scholarly work and at worst an outright & malicious soul-stealing lie. See the thread "Zeitgeist Totally Refuted" for more on that.

"The philosophy behind the Zeitgeist movement comes from the writings of H. P. Blavatsky who declared that Lucifer / Satan is the God of this world & the one whom she worshipped."

"...the TARGET of the film is Christianity. This is what they are after. To usher in the NWO they have to discredit and get rid of Christianity in order for them to succeed. They are very subtle in the way they work now. They are very slick in mixing truth with fact, as the Father of Lies always has done.

Joe Schimmel's article is one of the best written about Zeitgeist:

"Zeitgeist presents a long debunked theory that claims early Christians created a “Christ myth” that is loosely based on an alleged amalgamation of ideas that were borrowed from various pagan religions. However, serious scholars, long ago, refuted the ideas promulgated in Zeitgeist. To its own detriment, Zeitgeist quotes plenty of biased occult sources and very few, if any, primary sources.

"the worst thing about the movie is that it mixes some truth with much “that is plainly and simply Bogus.” "In watching Zeitgeist, I personally had a hard time believing so many lies could be crammed into one film."

"The most disturbing thing about this film is that Zeitgeist falsely claims that Jesus is mere ‘myth’ and not the Savior of the world. However, these claims clearly go against historical evidence to the contrary. Serious scholars and historians no longer question Jesus’ existence. "

"Overall, Zeitgeist repeatedly relies on the views of Satanists and famous occultists like Madame Helena Blavatsky and Manly P. Hall. Many historians document that Blavatsky’s occult teachings inspired the occult worldview of Adolph Hitler and the Nazi movement. One of the astonishing ironies about the Zeitgeist movement is that it came under the guise of exposing pagan beliefs and globalism only to end up leading people away from the truth of God’s word and into the occult and The New World Order!" Source

Richard Evans also wrote a good story on it here as well.

Another excellent video (10 min.) exposing the true agenda of Zeitgeist:

Ok then, that's it ? Lol.

What about a resource based economy, do you have something meaningful to say about that ?

Whose truth?

As far as I know, the Zeitgeist people are not the only proponents of a resource-based economy. I intend to read the book and come to my own conclusions though, because as is said around here often enough - propaganda tends to work both ways.

Personally? I believe a resource-based economy to be workable, and certainly a step forward from the constant lies and division this world is faced with daily.

People may disagree on a whole lot of issues (especially when encouraged by labels of left/right and media propaganda); but I'd wager they would agree that they'd like to live their lives, feeling a sense of purpose and accomplishment, rather than feel like their lives meant nothing more than being mice on a wheel that turns humanity.

I also think that most people will agree that they want to leave a world to their children & grandchildren that is better than the one they had. While no one set of values or religion will ever dictate this world, if we can learn to live and let live, allow people to raise their families as they see fit, and realize that though our beliefs may differ, our core wishes as people are quite the same.

As for religion? We should all believe what we want to believe, and allow others to do the same, while doing no harm. That is if we want to evolve as the capable, critical thinking adults we all want to be.

No move can be made from a market-based economy without a major global war. More so now, with China aping the U.S.'s 'greed lead'.

Wars haven't been instigated for resources throughout the Ages just so we can simply 'change' overnight.

Si non vis pecuniam, para bellum.

I have heard the 2030 deadline from multiple sources now, I mean the smartest people that are looking at the economics.
That seems to be the decade for a few things now that have been analyzed now. It's only 15 years away.
I think we all can agree this is not sustainable.

It's not economic doom porn, it's the reality that you can only push this so far.

Well that, and I think localizing is also a great thing. Eat local and get your food local if you can. Why should tomatoes have to come all the way from Mexico to the United States of America? It causes pollution and burns up of all that energy when we have the ability to grow things locally. It's truly an eye opener to think of what are we going to leave the next generation to deal with. It's going to be hell.

As Peter says in the interview - one way or the other it's going to change, because the current model is unsustainable. The question is how painful that transition will turn out.

I'm not sure we have to eliminate a market based system altogether, but at the very least the phony fiat currency + fractional reserve portion has to go. Of course a lot of powerful people are making a lot of money from this Ponzi scheme today, so there's that...

It's gonna get worse before it gets better.

People do want it, and there are cultural ties to this, but the question is to what extent does this tap into instincts (genetics) compared to culture (environment). I think people share the same instincts, but have preference that perhaps is mostly hard-coded. I think these preferences can be tweaked through the culture.

Let's imagine for a second human beings having a fully decentralized social model with a culture soon coming to explain it away. One moment they're in bed, the next aliens zap them good, drop them off a planet nearby a faraway star. With their mind wiped, would they adapt well? Now, the real kicker. Suppose someone came up with this wild idea for a centralized, hierarchical model of society. Would someone be on belownosecret.com posting about how most people prefer a decentralized model? Ya feel me?
