Thanks. What we need is a double-blind study on these "magic" bracelets.... oh wait.

www.acefitness.org...

“The bottom line is that after all the data was analyzed, there clearly was no evidence to support the notion that wearing a Power Balance bracelet improves physical performance.”

I know, I know, not the same bracelet... but, come on..

I wonder if they could charge up some garden hose and sell it by the foot. Wearing a rubber bracelet doesn't go with my wardrobe at all.

Randy,

Have you checked YouTube for all of the videos concerning these power bracelets and the whole "core power and balance" fraud?

They show you how the scam is pulled over on people. Go check it out.

Like some kind of chip?

Why not carefully dismantle the thing and tell us what's in it? Be the first to do it and post what you find here.

All i know is there was an immediate increase in balance and strength.
And that legitimized it for me.

Measured by what exactly? Were you having balance issues prior to wearing the product? If not, then I have to assume you now have superbalance. What's that like?

Perhaps you need a new wardrobe as well?

It seems to me that if it increases your balance and core strength
immediately, then that is a benefit and I'm convinced of that only.

I don't need that, so I don't know

Obviously, there is some unrecognized qualities associated with similar bracelets. I've seen it in action. The bracelet may be from a sporting event entry method, a music concert or some other activity, but frequently after the fact of the event these bracelet holders still keep the damned things dangling around their wrists for everybody to witness. Ergo!

There is some supernatural power connected to the bracelets that empower the wearers beyond the hum-drum ordinarity of their lives.

I simply can't believe, as some would say, perhaps even Phage, that the only power the wearers are feeling is ego power. Oh, Phage--are you really a Google app?--please come forth with absolute knowledge on this matter as it is driving some of us positively nuts (if we weren't already).

Would have been interesting if someone had said, "Here's a cool bracelet. Try it on." Instead of saying it was the best thing ever and would cure you of all your ills.

I wonder if you would have noticed any of those amazing effects.

Exactly and sort of like this thread

Interesting that I did a quick search for power balance bracelets for animals and didn't see any come up.

This does have a lot of the ear marks of a scam but you know,
I'm more than aware of that and I don't get taken.

If you felt what I did you'd sing a different tune and maybe a lot better.
Anyway it's all good, doesn't really matter to me either way.

Have a good week everybody!

I'm curious - what makes you think it worked?

No problem Red. Thought you'd never ask.

Because it took my balance and core strength to a significant
noticable difference immediately. So the damn thing works
some how. My wife and everyone in her family are all going
holy ####. And that's about it.

You are a very complicated biological entity.

Are you sure that the subjective improvements you describe were caused by the item?

How many extra kilograms of mass can you lift when wearing the bracelet (or whatever) as opposed to how much you can lift without it?

How long can you balance on the ball of one foot with your eyes closed both with and without the bracelet?

Whilst I will concede that acupuncture, magnetism and electrical stimulation are largely unexplored in the western world I think this falls into the placebo effect and psycho-sematics if you believe you will perform then you probably will perform, what you need is a test before and after say with dead lift, bench press, squat and 30 yard dash, before and after results, post that sort of information then you might convince me there is something to it.

Well good for you but study suggest its on your mind .

I actually got my cousin one time to lift 40 pounds more than his limit by not telling him that I put the extra weight on the bar while I was spotting him. Amazingly enough it worked and he didn't even have a bracelet on. After I told him what I did and he knew the weight was on the bar he couldn't do it again.

The power of influence over the mind is powerful , but if the bracelet lets you fool yourself into feeling better than I guess that a positive thing in some kind of , sorta kinda way.

K my wife convinced me in this manner. All she did was have me
stand on one foot and hold my arm out. She forced down on my arm
with hardly any preasure and I lost my balance and put down the other foot.

Then with this piece of metal in my hand we did it again.
I was able to remain on one foot no matter how hard she pulled.
So there was a big difference physically immediately.

Please re-try the experiment assuming the exact same posture starting first with the item, but then later without it.

The extra adrenalin we can call upon to enhance strength and metabolic function takes time to produce and spread. Perhaps in the initial test you were not "prepared" and in the latter one you were?

When you are standing or walking barefoot on the wet beach, the surface charge of the water goes through you since you are a close highpoint. If lightning hits the water miles away, the charge builds on the surface in that tension and your hair stands up if walking on the shore sometimes.

Now, you do not really need one of those bracelets, you could use a conductor and a stone. Like a necklace or a ring, or the glass on a watch and the metal case. Even putting a crystaline rock in your pocket will do the same think. Any crystal will do the trick. You could just eat a lot of mineral rich foods and this mineral increase will be in your body and it will make you feel better too.

This is sort of a sales pitch but there is something behind it. It is not what they are saying though. A crystal can act as a condenser to hold a charge and balance things a little in the body. Why do women wear jewelry? It makes them feel good.

So I would say this could have some effect on people but the reason they are giving is not the right reason.

A watch ticking once every second on your wrist can actually pace your heart somewhat too. When doing that it can actually make you feel more at ease. You can't get that from an electronic watch that does not tick.

I don't know how these things work. I have no idea because my medical studies were concentrated on chemicals and their interactions in the body. I never studied electromagnetic effects on the body but I know electromagnets are used to aid in bone healing and regeneration because orthopedic surgeons and sports medicine trainers use them regularly. Yet I remember those same ideas being the butt of jokes in the early stages of their development. I even remember studies "proving" that it was simply the placebo effect.
I've heard the same thing said of acupuncture, acupressure, and various other "alternative" procedures that don't involve chemicals and thus don't benefit the bank accounts of Big Pharma.
I do know that a bracelet made of hematite allowed a relative of mine who was suffering terribly with trauma-induced arthritis of his wrist to regain normal use of that wrist after all the medical docs had told him that there was nothing to be done but go to a pain management center. After his insurance company had paid out literally tens of thousands of dollars for tests and meds----a $10 bracelet put him back in business! Go figure.
Thanks, Randy for bringing this to us. I can't explain how or why it works but I can't explain how or why dowsing works either but one thing I've learned is that I don't know all there is to know about the human body and its interactions with the other matter in the universe.

I'm not selling the product so I'm not gonna try to convince you of anything.
I'm just say'n heads up, the damn thing works.

Done Amigos! and thanks.

I say the same about colloidal silver, many say it doesn't work, but we have not had even a common cold or sore throat for around 7 years, if we get a tickle in the throat or an ache we take some and we never get sick.

As far as the disclaimer, of course they are not Doctors they have to be protected by a disclaimer. If it works for you greta and thanks for sharing.
