Choice can be determined scientifically. It shouldn't be up to majority opinion on what is and isn't a choice. People are biased, science is objective. If science analyzes the human condition and finds that it isn't a choice. Then so be it.

Is being Jewish a choice or not? It's a religion yes, but it's also an ethnic group? Would it then be okay to discriminate against a Scottish Jewish convert because he made a choice but not an ethnic Jew because it's not?

I'm not sure what you mean. Religions have been a protected class since we drafted the Bill of Rights. It's specifically spelled out in the First Amendment that we have the freedom of religion. So I don't see a situation in either case where it would be ok to discriminate against a Jew.

These are the problems you get when the state tries to dictate associations and arbitrarily pick who is protected or not--often just to pander to one group or another.

That is why I defer to science. Your problems are created by bias. Use science and you get an objective definition of what are and aren't defined groups of people.

Charitable, LGBT-friendly organization Planting Peace harnessed the power of the internet Saturday to launch a "Virtual Pizza" fundraiser to help combat LGBT homelessness.

The pizza-themed drive, which has raised more than $36,000 at press time, is in direct response to another fundraising campaign that benefitted the owners of the Walkerton, Indiana's Memories Pizza, after the shop temporarily closed its doors while facing backlash for publicly supporting the state’s new Religious Freedom Restoration Act.

Employees of a talk show on noted conservative Glenn Beck’s The Blaze network started a GoFundMe page for Memories Pizza co-owners Kevin and Crystal O’Connor last week — and raised more than $840,000 in a matter of days for the antigay pizzeria owners.

“I wanted to try to raise money for something that will actually make the world better and send a message of support to the LGBTQ community,” said Aaron Jackson, Planting Peace’s president, in a statement. “The best thing we can do in the face of something so negative is to try to turn it into something positive."
