Hi, OZ is number 1 on my bucket list! I'm semi-planning on trying to get down there for New Years. I know Australia is huge, and if you're like most American's we don't visit 3/4 of the states we could... But heh have you traveled a bit in Oz? I'm thinking Sydney or Melbourne for New Years, any thoughts and sorry for asking you such mundane questions. Especially on a board dedicated to the non-mundane

I'd give you some tips on posting, but you'd probably get kicked off

ETA just saw trip wire's post, another aussie, feel free to chime in if you have an opinion

Thanks

Hey there,
Ask any question you'd like, mundane is fine and mostly interesting, after all what could be mundane for me or you, could be very interesting for someone else

Ive been to a Sydney NYE and it was spectacular. Good crowd, energy and vibe. Ive also heard Melbourne's is pretty good as well.

As for exploring Oz, i have been to queensland gold coast/sunshine coat/ brisbane/ cairns/ rockhampton/townesville and they are great places.
I work in the heart of the Sydney CBD and am a stones throw from chinatown, darling harbour, circular, taronga zoo and loads more. The central west of New South Wales is nice, Western Plains Zoo in Dubbo is pretty amazing. The north, south and central coasts are all nice and have good things about them.
Victoria is nice and i personally love Melbourne as my fave city in OZ. Their are lots of area's around it, outer suburbs and different towns that are really amazing.
Depending on what you like most places have good attractions
Any more questions please feel free to ask

How long did it take for you to get used to being upside down?
Is it weird to see water going down the drain in the wrong direction?
What's the deal with kangaroos?

Not that long at all, i just wore Iron Plated Boots so i wouldnt fall off the earth and float away.. kinda like id imagine zero G combat!
Water isnt an issue, only if i think how everyone has it and turn my head in the opposite direction to how mine is and i get dizzy and sick.. well then it is a problem

And the Roo's? There great for transport! Chuck a little one in the pouch with a joey and hop on the back and hold on tight! Harness's work well
I prefer the Big Red Roo's. Just be careful if they try to fight you..

Hello! No flying monkeys... but we aussie's do specialise in dropbears if you'd like one? There cuter then a monkey but are more inclined to eat you'r brains.
