Since this has been an issue in the past I will explain it here to avoid it. At the beginning of each of these meetings dealing with Ukraine they refer to a letter submitted by Ukraine to the UN back in 2014. This is always referenced at the start of these meetings dealing with Ukraine.

This meeting was called by Lithuania after they requested the UNHCR do an investigation into the ground situation in east Ukraine as well as Crimea. The meeting runs about 2 hours 25 minutes. The beginning of the video deals with the reports given by the UN representatives who performed the investigation.

The bulk of the meeting is each individual UNSC Ambassadors speaking to the report and the overall situation in Ukraine.

The interesting parts come at the end where the Russian, US, UK and Ukrainian Ambassadors have a nice go around about the facts. The Russian Ambassador tried to call out the US / UK Ambassador over their comments regarding Nadia Savchenko. He then proceeded to tell the council on why she was arrested and what she is being charged with - specifically she is accused of being complicit in the deaths of 2 Russian journalists inside Ukraine as well as illegally crossing the border into Russia.

The UK Ambassador "schooled" the Russian Ambassador about the facts, noting Nadia Savchenko was captured by the DPR militia and taken into Russia and turned over to Russian forces. He also noted the deaths of the 2 journalists occurred AFTER she was in Russian custody. The second charge given was for illegally entering Russia, which again blew up in the Russian Ambassadors face when it was pointed out she was forcibly taken into Russia.

The Russian Ambassador was at a loss for words in my opinion at the end and failed to address some of the facts put to him by the other members.

another issue raised was when Russia was stating the rebels have completed the heavy weapons pull out. The problem is the rebels refuse to allow OSCE monitors into the region so there is absolutely no confirmation the rebels have pulled out. The refusal to allow them in is a violation of the Minsk II and OSCE agreements that Russia and the Rebels signed onto.
A good watch if you are interested in seeing how this incident is being viewed not only by the people involved but other countries who are watching it unfold.

Now that the illegitimate rebellion in Kiev is 'officially recognized' the people in the East are rebels, huh?

Where do you expect them to pull back to? The people in Eastern Ukraine are fighting for independence, not to be Russian or join Russia, but to exclude themselves from the Imposters in Kiev, the EU and NATO.

The UN, like the OP has lost all credibility or legal merit as a neutral body, it only exists to further the NWO agenda and preserve USA geo- political hegemony, As long as it turns a blind eye to the violations of certain countries, the myopic support of ethnic cleansing within Ukraine, consider their statements and actions theatrics or proof of the above.

Maybe tell the whole story...

Minsk II

1) Immediate and full ceasefire in particular districts of Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts of Ukraine and its strict fulfilment as of 00:00 midnight EET on 15 February 2015.

Basurin: UAF are shelling the airport

RT crew caught under mortar shelling at Donetsk Airport

While at the airport, between 10:15 and 11:40hrs, the SMM heard at least 50 explosions, mostly from automatic grenade launchers, as well as small-arms and heavy-machine gun fire at a location less than one kilometre north-west of the Donetsk airport new terminal. The SMM assessed that most of the fire was incoming but could not ascertain the origin of the incoming fire. Between 11:40 and 12:05hrs the SMM heard several incoming mortar rounds approximately 300 to 500 meters north-west of its location but could not ascertain the origin of the incoming fire.

* Restrictions on SMM access and freedom of movement:

The SMM is restrained in fulfilling its monitoring functions by security considerations including the lack of information on whereabouts of landmines, and restrictions imposed by third parties.

The security situation in Donbas is fluid and unpredictable and the cease-fire does not hold everywhere. For this reason, the SMM requires security guarantees from “DPR” and “LPR” which are not always provided. Where such guarantees are limited to escorted movements, and escorts are not provided for all planned patrols or are delayed, this also represents a restriction of SMM freedom of movement.

In particular during the reporting period:

-In government-controlled Hrodivka, a Ukrainian Armed forces commander prevented the SMM from monitoring the movement of heavy weapons beyond that location.

- On the way to Svobodne (56km south-south-west of Donetsk), where the SMM planned to monitor a Ukrainian Armed Forces convoy, the SMM was stopped at a Ukrainian Armed Forces checkpoint west of Volnovakha (51km south-south-west of Donetsk). The commander of the checkpoint requested and was told the names and nationalities of all the SMM monitors. The SMM repeatedly asked for permission to pass the checkpoint, but the commander said he was still awaiting permission from the brigade commander. The SMM decided to turn back towards Donetsk.

- At a Ukrainian Armed Forces checkpoint in Volnovakha (51km south-south-west of Donetsk) the SMM was refused passage and had to change its route and had to proceed southwards to Mariupol. At a Ukrainian Armed Forces checkpoint located 2km north of Mariupol (115km south of Donetsk) the SMM was stopped again and had to wait for over 30 minutes. Not having received approval to proceed, the SMM decided to take an alternative route to return to Donetsk city.

- While on its way to a previously visited concentration of Ukrainian Armed Forces site in the northern part of the Donetsk region, the SMM was restricted in its freedom of movement at a checkpoint – located 20km to the north-west from the junction of roads to Artemivsk and Soledar -manned by Ukrainian Armed forces personnel and thereby prevented to verify the withdrawal of the previously monitored heavy weapons.

- While in “LPR”-controlled Parkhomenko (29km east of Luhansk) the SMM was stopped by “border guards” for a document check. The “border guards” asked for special authorization for patrols in the border area which they explained to the SMM as 15km from the contact line.

10) Pullout of all foreign armed formations, military equipment, and also mercenaries from the territory of Ukraine under OSCE supervision. Disarmament of all illegal groups.

The UNSC is - once again - incompetent.

We had several leaders ask for a mandate to send an implementation force for Ukraine, like IFOR in Bosnia, after NATO dissolved the former Federal Republic of Yugoslavia.
Chancellor Merkel, Hollande, Prososhenko and Putin expressed the need for a peacekeeping mission, given that certain elements in the conflict are no longer (if ever) under controll by Kiev OR the Donetsk People's Republic.

The fact that we don't have this force by now shows that some players are not interested to settle this conflict peacefully, or with the current demarcation.

I just did, read my post again.

And Here

I already told half a year ago on this forum that I thought a few battalions of Russian have been send in back then, and I also have speculated in the MH17 threads that Russia might have taken out some Ukrainian Air Force with Russian fighters.

But you want me to start telling you MSM crap, because it would give the impression I`m trustworthy somehow...?

Ukraine hasn't officially made the request for peace keepers. Though I do believe poreshenko is starting the process. Not sure why they Havnt done this earlier actually I think it probably has to do with Ukraine having to acknowledge this area as separate entity. Kiev doesn't want to give up its claim and I think they are worried they will have an occupied area like Georgia. They were hoping the west would supply weapons to fight back the invasion but the west doesn't want to have to gurantee Ukraines security.

They have always been troublesome for the EU. There country is mired in debt corrupt and would be a drain on the EU. Putins invasion is forcing them to reevaluate there policies because now they see what happens when apathy becomes a parent to Putin. Putin knew Ukraine meant nothing to the west and that's why he jumped on this. He used the instability to increase Russian territory not to mention oil reserves. Putin has played well up until recently he just backed himself into a corner now. He can't pull his support because he created this fake narative. And he can't continue forward since he would have to go to a full scale invasion. So his only hope prolong this and hope Ukraine cracks under the pressure.

It seems that even now the UN is getting fed up with Ukraine and NATO's nonsense. NATO is once again over estimating everything and going on about how much worse the situation is in Ukraine, and yet other UN members have their own sources there that are not backing up this info at all. And as another poster pointed out,the OSCE was WITH Motorola at the airport when they came under fire. This is a fight the USA wants to keep pushing with NATO.But it would be in the EU's back yard and they don't want it. Right now they want both us and NATO to 'stand down' and stop pushing for more trouble. The don't need peace keepers and it wasn't in the Minsk agreement to have them. They have the OSCE there to witness and verify what is going on. The OSCE has verified that the pro Russians have pulled back their heavy armaments,They are still to do this with Kiev, and are getting a lot of run around while Kiev plays games with them.

And the other side:

As much as you would like to play the narrative that the US is pushing just shows how little grasp on reality you have. The US doesnt care about Ukraine case in point has obama been involved in any negotiations. He consideres Russia a minor annoyance at best. Ukraine gets no play time on news stations unless rebels do something stupid like shoot down an airliner. This US is out to get Russia just isnt realistic. No one in the US isnt even concerned with Ukraine Isis is on everyone's radar.

Truth of the matter is US policy towards Russia is simple treat them like North Korea. Ignore the garbage coming out of Russia set up sanctions and sit back and watch Putin destroy his country. Sanctions will end up being devastating inflations already running rampant they are having to cut there budgets. Pensions are being cut how long do you think people are going to accept that. Russians are hiding their money in foreign currencies. Its literally a race to bankruptcy for Ukraine and Russia.

The US is playing it's own narrative just fine and it's transparent
With economic sanctions (considered an act of war) against Russia, the opposite could not be further from the truth
the USA is very concerned about Russia, it is considering arming the opposition whom it has and will continue training
It has increased it's presence and called upon NATO members to do so in and around the black sea, and Russia is responding with relative restrain imo, ironically the actions by USA and NATO have only increased Putin's popularity btw, Russia is not N korea.
Obama can't handle Putin, case and point why he doesn't show up at the table
how little grasp on reality you have.
The US handler's only goals are money, power and control. They will never have enough and they are ready to do anything to get more. Their geographic and ideological core is the anglo-American empire but they know no borders, have no country, no notion of nationalism or patriotism. For them nations are like hotels, there to be used, abused and when no longer useful, destroyed. They feel a deep contempt for people who they see as little more than slaves to be exploited, abused and deceived. Pierre Lescaudron
US policy towards Russia, like Libya, Iran, like Syria is one obstacle in the way towards domination over China and BRIC nations as a response to their global economic proposal for a world currency actually backed by something.

Pure garbage. The OSCE is trying to verify heavy armament pullbacks. There are still areas that they are being denied access to by the 'separatists'.

Great link!

People always say the media spin is so bad from both sides they don't know what to believe. This link provides directly gathered information on the situation inside Ukraine. Of course after the briefing of facts the countries get to spin everything how they like.

Good way to cut through the garbage on the Ukraine issue.

I retracted my statement since ad hominem do not equal the information given, even if I have an issue on West vs Russian threads about objectivity. We all know there is 5 members who constantly flood the threads with only western narrative. Even when there is something western even admitted they will still deny it since it does not work in the favor off western narrative. From my point of view you are the counter to this 5 people.

Whatever any of you 6 write it should be looked at as information and not as ad hominem.

Your inability to comprehend what people are talking about never ceases to amaze me.

What part of OSCE monitors not being allowed to observe the rebel heavy weapon pull out confuses you? What part of the minsk agreement calling for the OSCE monitor confuses you?

So you didn't bother watching the entire video? Stating I have lost all credibility while trying to derail the thread is just sad.

We are discussing Russia, Russian rebels and Ukraine.

You are more than welcome to start an I hate the US thread of your own so you don't derail this one.

You just post whatever and then lie about it so it supports your failed version of events....

foreign forces is referring to those engaged in fighting in the East. Secondly Russia has failed to comply not only with removing its forces from the east but is still supplying weapons to the Russian rebels.

As has been stated time and again the cold war is over so the ability to just make up lies and expect people not to challenge them is over with.
