SLUSHY, HALF-FROZEN WAVES ON NANTUCKET

A never-seen-before phenomenon is puzzling Nantucket (Massachusetts): Silent slushy waves were oozing onto the beaches a few days ago. And the following, colder day - the ocean was frozen...

I don't know about that. I grew up in Connecticut and I remember lots of ice in the ocean at the beach when I was a kid. Nantucket isn't that far away. ETA ... not the slush waves, but chunky waves. I guess that's different.

That's pretty awesome. Nice find.

I've seen the ocean freeze up, but this is pretty cool and I've never seen anything like it.

Thanks for responding.

I'm not a scientist, but I wonder if any of this especially-cold winter is due to the drifting magnetic North Pole:

Down right beautiful, does anyone know if there's any video of it? I would love to see that! I live on Long Island. And although we don't have frozen waves here, we do have frozen bays. I never thought I'd be able to walk out on ocean, but I did the other day.
I walked from the tree line.

I couldn't find any video on the "slushy waves" from Nantucket. But here's video of "slushy waves" from Alaska:
