Land of the free and home of the brave is history; that original America has been replaced by a disguised dictatorship. We live on an Animal Farm run by Big Brother.

Exactly.
If we venture to break the paradigm of statism (fascist/socialist/totalitarianwhatever) AND counter the hegelian dialectic our Governments WILL offer the people, we have to present the crime and it's repression as a conflict inherent in the system - the problem fighting it's own symptoms.
With us footing the bill of course.

I didn't mean to lecture you or something btw.

The hill keeps getting steeper here, I guess it gets worse before it gets better.

I never thought this would happen just a few years ago.

Umm, you goto these sites before you're pronounced guilty or even charged. They send you there to extract a confession to something you may or may not have done. Stop committing crimes? That's a joke. You can wind up here while completely innocent and by the time they let you out you'll have plead guilty to something.

Yes I'm aware of that. My comment was in response to the person who said we need to stop funding the police departments. Another way we can stop funding them is putting an end to the "click it or ticket" and "drink/drive/go to jail" grants.

You hope I'm illegally detained because I think not committing crimes is the best way to defund police departments? Grow up dude.

After just reading the whole thread, I realize now that the majority of the idiots who responded to me assumed that I was saying if you don't commit a crime you won't find yourself in one of these detention centers. Talk about the mother of all knee jerk reactions.

Context folks, its a pretty important element in a conversation.

Only on ATS can the most common sense approach be viewed as the most ignorant.

"Whata ya mean stop committing crimes in order to cut off funding to police departments, that's like asking people to abstain from sex until they're ready to be parents in order to prevent abortions."

We're seriously f####d up beyond repair.

You cannot 'dry them out' though - when they 'fix' the demand so to speak.

The Government will produce the criminals they need in order to justify their necessity to the taxpayer.

The media is playing along. The people are scared. The people pay. Government wins.

My first issue with this thread:

It's been 10 pages, over 150 flags but nothing. What I mean by that is many of you are "calling for investigation" so do it!

"Government can't 've trusted but we want government to investigate this" What

My second issue:

Where's the proof? No one in my neighborhood, my family's neighborhoods, my friends neighborhoods gets abducted. After 10 pages you would think SOMEONE here would go "oh yeah this happened to me, here's the proof" nope. No one? I venture a guess none of you even know someone who this has happened to.

I work in a field that probably would come into contact with something like this and the worst valid complaints I ever heard were young kids complained the officer was too rough during a legitimate arrest over drug/gang crimes.

Never have I heard "they picked me up for no reason, took me somewhere, beat me..." what would be the reason for that?

I need proof guys, and you can beat on tinfoil and bone75 all you want, but they seem to be two of the few offering some sense in this discussion

It seems that has to do with them not reading the information and more provided and sticking to what some consider straw man topics.

Keep in mind the news is still breaking.

The Guardian reporter will have to release the proof. As will other attorney's. However, due to the courts, probably cannot release it to the public to what one may consider proof at this time.

Have you seen the update I shared, a women came forth about her ordeal in the same place the men were held.

Unfortunately this seems to have gone all too silent on ATS. However, there is additional information, etc. coming forth.

"4 More Victims Come Forward From Chicago Secret Prison..."

(ANTIMEDIA) Chicago, IL — Four more victims of incarceration at Chicago’s Guantanamo Bay style secret detention/torture center, known as Homan Square, have come out and spoken to The Guardian about their experience being essentially treated like cattle. They are four black males, Brock Terry, Kory Wright, Deandre Hutcherson and David Smith.

They were kicked in the genitals while helpless and bound, put in ‘kennels for humans’, and they heard the bloodcurdling screams of other helpless victims while they thought they would never see the light of day again.

To add to it: the initial breaking news was and is circulating in the mainstream news meanwhile protests have been happening at the claimed site.

Demonstrators Protest Homan Square CPD Site As Allegations Growp

Nearly 200 people protested outside the Chicago Police Department's facility in Homan Square Saturday, where allegations of torture have created national headlines. Allegations of holding arrestees off the books and the use of CIA style interrogation techniques were published by the Guardian last week.

Andy Thayer, who helped organize the demonstration, demanded Mayor Rahm Emanuel open an investigation. “We live in a city and, yes, a country that is swimming in a problem of police brutality, particularly against young black men, young Latino men and other people of color,” said Thayer. Mike Holmgren of the Stop Mass Incarceration Network said this was an endemic problem within the police department. “This is a hemlock tree,” said Holmgren. “It’s poison. These are crimes against humanity and they must stop. As long as this system is in power, the world will be a horror.”

In an effort to quell the outrage over the site, CPD released a “fact sheet” about the facility. The three-page document takes umbrage with the stories reported and the accounts from more than a half dozen detainees who spent time at the site at different times under different circumstances. “It is not a secret facility,” according to the document. Later, a section titled “examples of false information recently published” leads with “the allegation that physical violence is a part of interviews with suspects is unequivocally false, it is offensive, and it is not supported by any facts whatsoever.”

It then goes on to say that the autopsy report of man who died in an interview room at the site showed an accidental heroin overdose, and local media have been invited on tours regularly.

However, if you read the full article you will find that they were also goaded into potential destructive actions by undercover police officers. I'm not sure if that includes the creation of the incendiary devices or not

This is why you should always be wary and suspicious of "new" friends that seem more radical than you -- especially if they advocate breaking of any laws.

I almost jumped in, too. Your first post is pretty vague from the outside looking in.

"Whata ya mean stop committing crimes in order to cut off funding to police departments, that's like asking people to abstain from sex until they're ready to be parents in order to prevent abortions."

Not really. They could actually just have their buddies make more # illegal if they arent bringing in enough money to support their spending habits. I'd think by now we've got the important # covered, you know: Rape, murder, child molestation.

If everyone stopped committing all crimes TODAY scratching your ASS WOULD BE a felony by next week.
