If Mariupol falls, we could end up at war with Russia.

Are Western commanding officers always at the front like Russian (and WW2 Germans) do/did ?

Yes and you would know this if you did research.

Well define commanding officers. Platoon commanders? Company commanders? What?

Either way yes they are.

The leader of DPR who got wounded just recently because he`s right at the front, so that`s the way Russians do it (not saying he`s Russian, but he uses the same style).

You just make it up as you go dont you.

As stated earlier if you did any research you would know American commanders fight with the troops. Not really sure why you raised this point knowing your argument against would fail.

Mariopol maybe important, but people are getting this the wrong way.

If Russians were smart, they'd have escalated this war a long time ago. They have everything to lose, by allowing Nato to enter their corner of the world.

It's not THEIR corner of the world. The people who live there get a choice. There's a reason why Russia's
European neighbors very very eagerly left Russia's empire as soon as they could: they knew Russia.

The Netherlands didn't join Warsaw Pact in 1991.

Russians are NOT smart. They could join Europe, economically, politically and culturally, the way that Peter the Great wanted to, and with time become as important and central as Germany. But NO! Their stupid macho pride (for no good reason) wouldn't let them do what everybody else in Eastern Europe did: join the post-fascist and post-communist 21st century.

They're just like Germany after WW1. Arrogant and didn't learn a thing.

HAS ANYONE ever seen footage of their troops operating in Georgia?
US citizens from OUR Georgia would do better as feild troops.

From what I have seen researching Russia (my opinion) is they are incapable of being a part of a group of nations where they are equals with those nations. The Warsaw pact was evidence of that. Russia / USSR was actually offered a seat with NATO and they refused. They demanded the US be removed from it, which was a non starter for the other countries joining NATO.

Even after the cold war they remained one sided with NATO. NATO allowed Russian officers to interface with NATO while that same courtesy was not extended to NATO to station an officer in Russia.

The EEU Russia is trying to form is composed of nations who are essentially dancing to Putins tune. Since Russia is the dominant partner they are wanting to call the shots.

For Putin to get pissed because he doesnt think the west shows him respect while he treats other nations linked to Russia like they dont matter is symptomatic of the issues Putin has.

I would say, with the potential which Russia has, even more important than Germany.
Russia would have put quite some weight in the scale, couple that with France or some other member states and they would be on top of the EU in terms of legislation and the direction of Europe.
Must be quite a relief for the US that Russia is quite nationalistic and sees the rest of Europe as a threat instead of a partner.

Who cares? they got the job done after all. Unlike US Army, the others including Russians do not spend $200 on a single hammer.

How much does each B2 costs anyway? Like $1-2B or more. Don't know yet, but if Russians have figured a way to track stealth then $50B for two dozen B2s is down the drain..............at least against the Ruskies.

YOU would if you put THAT gaggle of garbage in front of US troops.
IN CASE you aren't clever enough to figure it out, BLACK budget expenses aren't JUST aquired from publicly announced sources but are HIDDEN. I would assume as Russians aren't TOTAL fools they already HAVE, but aren't stupid enough to anounce such a feat so their NEW gear isn't countered.
AS to their WANTING a war I doubt it as well for the same reasons.
Just a floorshow. for the rubes who buy it.

Former NATO commander: A new Russian offensive in eastern Ukraine is 'imminent'

A new Russian-led offensive in Ukraine is likely to take place within the month, the former head of US and NATO forces in Europe warned. Retired General Wesley Clark warned at an exclusive briefing with the Atlantic Council that a renewed Russian offensive in Ukraine was "imminent" and would "most probably" take place between Orthodox Easter on April 12 and Russia's celebrations of VE Day on May 8. Clark said he reached this timeframe by speaking to a number of sources within the Ukrainian military both in Kiev and along the frontline in eastern Ukraine. "Ukrainian forces expect attack within the next sixty days," Clark writes for the Atlantic Council. "This assessment is based on geographic imperatives, the ongoing pattern of Russian activity, and an analysis of Russian actions, statements, and Putin’s psychology to date." Clark further noted that Russian and separatist forces are already massed both in eastern Ukraine and along the Russian border. "[S]ome nine thousand Russian Federation personnel and thirty to thirty-five thousand separatist fighters are in eastern Ukraine. These forces include some four hundred tanks and seven hundred pieces of artillery, including rocket launchers," Clark estimates. "Another approximately fifty thousand Russian military personnel are located along or near Russia’s border with Ukraine. A further fifty thousand Russian personnel are located in Crimea." The ultimate goal of the assault would be the creation of a "land bridge" linking Russian-annexed Crimea to the separatist controlled zones of eastern Ukraine and ultimately to Russia. Any push to create a land bridge would focus on taking the Ukrainian port city of Mariupol, a strategic port and steel-producing city on the Sea of Azov.........

The other side is saying the same thing for almost 2 months now, only they say it will be an Ukrainian offensive, so who are we to believe when it happens again?

Not sure why US has taken such a keen interest in Ukraine but a war in Europe certainly would increase profits for the military industrial complex and allow US to take emergency measures to appropriate what little wealth the public have remaining.

Executive Order 13603 gives Obama the power over all commodities and products capable of being ingested by human beings and animals; all forms of energy; all forms of civil transportation; all usable water from all sources; health resources; forces labor such as military conscription; and federal officials can issue regulations to prioritize and allocate resources.

Welcome to the new world order. You Will be Assimilated. Resistance is Futile.
