we've found that a good many of the "Putin Lovers" are online agents paid to influence social conversations.
I'm referring to the "online army" of social media users posting pro-Putin propaganda.

Or meaning ATS has found this to be true of other sources.
It didn't say here, it said online...which is a rather large place.

It does seem rather one-sided. Apparently you can directly accuse another member of being a "Russian shill" without so much as having your comment deleted, but if you accuse someone of being a "US Gov shill" you'll most likely be banned immediately.
The British military is to form a new specialist force in “non-lethal” forms of psychological warfare using social media such as Twitter and Facebook to tackle the “asymmetric battlefields” of the 21st century.
A new 77th Brigade will be created, comprising up to 2,000 soldiers skilled at using propaganda rather than bullets. They must understand political activism and how to use social media to spread ideas.
A pro-Israel pressure group is orchestrating a secret, long-term campaign to infiltrate the popular online encyclopedia Wikipedia to rewrite Palestinian history, pass off crude propaganda as fact, and take over Wikipedia administrative structures to ensure these changes go either undetected or unchallenged.

Can I say for 100% certain Russia is paying posters to push pro-Russia talking points on ATS....No. But some of the posts mirror each other and push the same talking points. Whenever I see Nazi this or Nazi that I really start wondering what the heck.
Proof really is in the pudding and just like the influx of poster when the Health care debate in the US was going I noticed a influx of new pro-Russia posters when Ukraine was invaded. Maybe if it walks like a duck and quakes like a duck it might actually be a........Duck.
