Staff:

Preferably retractable, but I don't mind if not.

The staff must be relatively smooth, some of my techniques depend on it. But it must also have several levels of thickness so I can guess where I'm holding it without having to look.

Plus I can use it to walk.

EDIT:

Hey, that one looks nice:

I am sure Saruman wouldn't mind if I "borrowed it for maintenance" for an indefinite amount of time...

YoYo

A yo-yo-like weapon was used in the Philippines to kill both people and prey from the safety of a tree. It was typically made of solid stone several times larger than typical modern toy yo-yos and was attached to a 20 foot rope. By the way, these ones wouldn’t actually return to the thrower. Omitting that feature on this yo-yo seems like it was a good idea.

Also, this Flail is just badass so is worthy of the thread

Couldn't resist.........

The Ulfberht.

The simplicity and craftsmanship in this blade is fantastic. Would love to have a good condition original.

Just a good strong long light weight spear is nice to have. Masai as a right of passage would send a young man out to slay a lion with only a spear. Through out history those with the greatest reach usually won the day.. The bow is an awesome weapon for that very reason and certainly my first choice although I do like a good Katana. Humm I need an armory !

How about the old sling? Not my favorite, but I would like to learn how to use one accurately.

This seems quite primitive.....

blog.seattlepi.com...

(Held weapon?.... ok.. I'm pushing boundaries here but someone would have to hold the firing codes/failsafe keys etc)

Defn. of primitive I'm using here - 'characteristic of early ages or of an early state of human development'

(thanx for that link in another post hellobruce)

The Atlatl is a very underrated weapon. In the right hands, it can be very effective and deadly.

Many a foe have fallen during my D&D sessions to the all mighty Atlatl lol

But yeah I agree, trained properly, I've seen real life reenactments where they were hitting targets at 400 feet easily.

Big fan of the sling...you can carry anywhere including a plane and no one has a clue. You can wrap it around about anything...I do a suitcase handle and no one thinks twice about it....and if its found it still only is rope and leather so who cares! Its a nice hobby looking for sling stones by water and its fun cheap and easy to do. It can be decently accurate and a good stone id wager will put out more force than a bullet. Problem is you only get one and its not as accurate as a gun..at least not for me.

But I just love the idea that its the ultimate conceal carry weapon....although not easily able to be ready quickly.
