This is crazy!

Never has there been a cluster like this before.

I've lived in N.TX for something like 15 years now and dont really ever remember quakes this frequently in the DFW area. Ever since the last couple months of 2014, Irving seems to have quakes every couple weeks. In the past couple weeks though, it seems Irving has been having quakes every couple of days. Then there's today and we're at 8 now.

Im just now seeing local news stations posting about the 3.1 that happened 30 minutes ago.

First came from WFAA facebook. www.facebook.com...

A 3.1 magnitude quake at 12:59 AM 2 miles Northeast of Irving

Are these considered aftershocks of the 3.6 that happened hours ago? It seemed that most after were high 1's to 2's, and now a 3.1?

Yep. I felt 6 of the 8. Now I'm just sitting here waiting for the next one.

If i was in the area what i would be doing right now is stocking up on water.

And also making sure anything that is not tied down firmly is so it wont fall or break if theres a larger and i mean larger one.

Fox 4 updated their stuff, and added a 2.3 that happened Tuesday morning that wasnt included in the total number counted. Total of 9 now.

www.facebook.com...

3.1M just before 1 a.m.
And they added a 2.3M from Tuesday morning.

Okay to expand on what Dreamfox added. North Texans, just make sure you have your usual tornado supplies and plans. Water, flashlights, know where shoes and car keys are, canned food ect.. I do not suggest sleeping sans jammies tonight.

Just felt a pretty big one, relatively, to the recent ones! Holy crap!

I'll update once it hits USGS but that one was a bit scary...

It was a 3.6 in nearly the same spot as the 3.5 earlier today. It certainly felt much stronger and lasted at least 4 seconds.

3.6 is not a big earthquake. Us Californians wouldn't blink an eye at that.

I'm sure. Californians don't worry until their floor opens up and swallows them.

The difference is: we don't get earthquakes. Thanks for chiming in though, California.

And I get that, that it is an anomaly and interesting no matter what the level. Im just saying, in actual earthquake zones these wouldn't be considered dangerous or big.

But if that area hasn't really had them before, it would be alarming or at least cause for questions I suppose.

Still shaking this morning.
I wonder when these little quakes will stop?

Weird.

My first thought after the earthquake: "What the frack is going on here?"

For some reason the 3.5 felt stronger and longer than the 3.6 did.I work near Love Field so the 3.6 was actually closer. Go figure. I probably shouldn't be excited, but it was pretty cool to feel an earthquake as I have never experienced one before.

... However, having experienced them, I can now get a better picture of the terror and devastation an earthquake can cause.
Crazy stuff.

Shhhhh. It's just the ground luring us into a false sense of security.
