yes i think thats ok
edit: ok i didnt mean the bit about tazing. but all the cop did a push him over.

I always like to look at it swapped...had he pushed the cop in like manner, what would be different?

Right. See, unless the cop's behavior was pertinent to doing his job, and it wasn't, then that's assault. However, an assault on a cop of like kind wouldn't be ignored as this will be.

I don't condone the actions of the police in this vid, but the guy was clearly trying to provoke the cops. He was mic'ed and why would that be? I can only think he was hoping for a bad outcome to make a Youtube vid about it. Just sayin.

Come now, guys. If you don't approve of EVERYTHING NYPD cops do, then you are anti-police, and your hands are LITERALLY dripping with blood any time one of them is injured or killed. Literally. Dripping.

Your disapproval of LEOs is DEADLY INSPIRATION to people to kill LEOs at random. So unless you want hands that are literally dripping with blood, which could be a bit messy at table, then you should retract all these statements.

Whatever they decided to do, it was what they thought was proper at that moment, which is all that counts. Any other criticism of their behavior is Monday morning quarterbacking, to be rejected out of hand.

Your sense of humor is hilarious, seriously i find it amusing.

The sad part is it's nearly verbatim from Patrick Lynch. This Is What Cops Believe.

Thats gross. Someone who believes that deserves the future in store for this country.

There's a lot of things I don't appreciate. The difference is, I don't get to attack people and get away with it.

He's one of the driving forces - head of one of the NYPD unions. Google "literally dripping" and "Patrick Lynch". The guy sounds like a brownshirt.

I've spent days longer than eight hours on my feet in the depths of winter dealing with aggressive a-holes who would threaten me and try to wind me up. I chose to do that job and to take it out on them and act illegally as a result (ie assault them, rather than defend myself), then i would just be a wanker who deserved a good kicking and to lose my job.

Oh, you must be in construction, the only difference being standing around is typically frowned on, usually requires hard skilled work.

The thing about NYC is interesting.

I use to visit the city daily when it was a single digit to get over the river now it’s 14 Dollars!

I worked there everyday in IT work all over the city.

Then NYC was loose, you might walk down the street and get propositioned by a handsome lady or man of the night…like Tom Cruise in Eyes Wide Shut.

See a 50 foot statue of a Goddess with 16 breasts...

Hang out late in the chess club with a cool Rabbi

Walk around the village like a hippie

Get any kind of drug you could name…
Pornography dropping from the sky in midtown Manhattan

Meet any kind of person from any part of the world

Get the best Indian food in the world.

Best Italian food

Best anything in the world was in NYC

Practically EVEY TIME I was over there I saw a celebrity...no big thing
You don’t have to walk far to see one there all over Manhattan: peoples faces you’ve seen on tv or the movies you can’t name then again often I would see a Chris Rock, Madonna, an OJ Simpson, all manner of stars and celebrities and most of them were loose and very friendly.

The most beautiful woman in the world NYC has, a man can see and touch his dreams in NYC

Of course as well as his nightmares

At least that was the case a few years ago

When it was loose and free and you felt the awesome atmosphere of the greatest city in the world.
The greatest city of all time...

Then years later it changed, drastically.

It now looks and feels more like a mini police state in NYC. Believe me it does...

Where the streets were free and loose they have turned into sparseness, tightness and dryness and an antiseptic feeling of something bottled up…

No more propositions in the street, no more guys wiping off your windshield for a buck…

Fewer panhandlers

Less interesting people

The woman who use to be warm and friendly are now chilly and uppity

And of course the police; who if you weren’t committing murder, robbery or a real crime use to NEVER bother you…
Now today NYC has turned into a different place than it was when I use to hang out there...years ago...when the price to get in was cheap.

Sure the streets are cleaner, no more bums wiping off your windshield, no more greedy panhandlers and few ladies of the night…

Its safer and cleaner but has NYC sold its soul for that small element of outward serenity and made the ugliness just go inside…out of sight, out of mind

I think it did

NYC has lost its soul!

It was a left-field counselling/therapeutic/damage-limitation type thing with troubled teens/adults on a farm/woodland craft/labour/education setting. Lots of fun, learned a lot, burned the crap out of me after nearly ten years!

Felt like thumping a lot of folk here and there obviously, but that aint really helping people - which is what it was all about

Now, this brings up an interesting point I had not considered so far.

Obviously, something about enjoying yourself really pisses NYPD right off.

So, instead of shooting them, record them beating people that are doing nothing at all. Obviously doing nothing.

NYPD instantly loses the high ground, and you start pushing the politicians for some new control over the obviously insane cops. A nice federal licensure requirement would do, if it had some sharp teeth to it.

Rudolph Giuliani many believe started NYC on its decline into junior fascism

Start with the minor crimes: no more panhandlers, no more ladies of the night… make the streets like Berlin

Make NY a bastion of bothersome, nosy, policemen who stop and frisk minority youths all day.

Cosmetics…

Then Bloomberg upped the ante where he did stop and frisk at record numbers...while real criminals did their crime.

Crime was going down nationally anyway so what he did wasn’t the thing that stopped crime.

It was Bloomberg I believe who created this new NY of antiseptic boredom and ONLY a playground for the rich and superrich.

Under him even the cab drivers stopped being crazy

So they probably went home and beat their wives and kids

Now we know what really started terrorism!

He got in their face, in their space. They didn't like it. Big whoop. Threw him to the ground? Seriously. That was a little shove. Oh, the drama.

But it does make another nice little jumping off point for more rants against the police for some of y'all.

And NY is still a great place, better than it was when I was growing up there in many ways. Some people just can't hang.

The officer was approached from behind at close range. The guy wasn't simply dancing in the street. How would the officer know he wasn't a threat? This guy is an idiot and I actually think he deserves what he got.

Tensions have been high lately and cops are on high alert due to recent murders. This guy was looking for a reaction and got one. Dumb...
