Casino Royale. It turned a bloated, blubbery franchise that was overloaded with tropes and "it's a Bond movie...it's gotta have ____" moments and
tore the guts right out. There were a few callback moments for the fans, but largely it just did everything pretty perfectly and did not feel weighed
down at all.
All that was left was a sleek, streamlined and engaging movie with interesting characters, artfully choreographed action sequences and a cool
But the fans have obviously spoken. Quantum of Solace and Skyfall have been gradually reintroducing the fan service junk more and more. Pretty soon
Craig will be swilling his shaken martinis with a Scottish accent over an invisible Aston Martin. In space or something.
