Looking to get opinions on this. Russia and Iran both have treaties with Syria that state they will come to the aid if Syria is attacked by another nation. Now we are not attacking the government of Syria but the terrorists who are hiding there. Still though Syria is still a sovereign nation and we are dropping bombs on their soil. Does this treaty apply even though we are not attacking the Syrian government?

Assad was informed when the strikes were ordered according to his UN representative.
Putin wants ISIL put down, too many Chechens that could go back to Russia.
Assad is also doing air strikes at the same time.
Since ISIL has no airforce, there is no worry of shooting each other.

actually the Daesh,,new name,,,used a jet aircraft during Operation Kadone

,used it too bomb / straffe a fortified Kurdish outpost.

as far as going one on one or mano a mano,,jet to jet,, is none existent.

in my opinion.

sorry this part,,

Since ISIL has no airforce,

Their lone jet craft or two or three clunkers left behind by Assad's retreated forces would most likely be among the first things blown up while still on the ground. So no air force after the first 10 seconds would be highly probable. The first thing Saddam's pilots did was go find a landing strip in Iran. ISIS has no neighbors that would take them.
