Someone called me a commie (nope Iam a socialist) on ATS today and it got me thinking what would Jesus be?. Would he be a capitalist? a socialist? or another form of politics?.
Now I tend to lean towards Jesus was a socialist because of of these passges.

yeas one would think socialist, His kingdom though is made up of some people who will receive great reward and others who will receive little.
1 - CROWN 1 - CROWN OF RIGHTEOUSNESS— LOVED THE LORD'S APPEARING - 2 Tim 4:8
2 - CROWN 2 - INCORRUPTIBLE CROWN— DISCIPLINED BODIES / SELF-CONTROL - 1 Cor 9:25-27
3 - CROWN 3 - CROWN OF LIFE— ENDURED PATIENTLY THRU TRIALS - James 1:12, Rev 2:10
4 - CROWN 4 - CROWN OF GLORY— GODLY LEADERS WHO WERE EXAMPLES TO FLOCK - 1 Pet 5:2-4
5 - CROWN 5 - CROWN OF REJOICING— SOUL WINNERS CROWN - 1 Thess 2:19, Dan 12:3
6 - CROWN & REWARDS— 6 FACTS:
7 - REWARDS FOR THOSE WHO WIN THE RACE,PRIZE OF ETERNAL LIFE Phil 3:12-14, 1 Cor 9:24-27
8 - REWARDS FROM JESUS FOR OVERCOMERS - 8 SCRIPTURES ON BEING AN OVERCOMER - Rev 21:7 - See more at: so4j.com...

So pure socialism is off the cards

Monarchy with a true loving, caring and hounest King who serves His people, doesnt expect to be served, with a lot of socialism thrown in.

Pure speculation, I am sure Gods plan is better than that.

I'll let Woody Guthrie answer that question.

I know one thing for sure...Yeshua is NOT a member of the GOP like some would have you believe.

Well first you need to know whether Jesus would have wanted maximum prosperity or would have wanted people to live with the bare minimum and without technological luxuries.

Heaven is a dictatorship.

It has the Godfather and his son who does the PR work.

It has an Army led my the Archangel Michael.

It has a reeducation camp for those that do not toe the line, it is called Hell with a really mean CEO.

Lastly, they have a book. Many such books have existed, like the little red book.

So Jesus is a product (a hybrid actually) of all of this.

Just check out the first three Commandments if you are unsure.

Well considering the socialist countries like Denmark and other northern european countries are doing very well and are so happy I think you are wrong.

None. He would avoid that issue entirely. What did he say? Let Caesar keep what belongs to Caesar. Another time I believe he stood up and walked away when questioned about a political issue. I could be wrong.

Actually, God in the old testament was not for a government at all.
He warned them against having government (Kings) and only allowed them a King after they begged and begged.

He gave the 10 commandments and said that was the law.

He gave judges to try cases.

Jesus added the most important commandment "love you neighbor as yourself", which if everyone did there would be no need for police or the military.

But in today's society we need a government to build roads, etc. And Jesus was for taxes, read it in the bible if you don't believe me.

I think if everyone followed all the commandments that Jesus would not have a government in any form we see today at all. He would simply have taxes and municipal suppliers (roads, etc that are needed beyond the local level). The municipal supplier who held to the 10 commandments would be honest and not end up with a bloated bureaucracy.

If you are looking for the ideal government, God said it best, no government at all (no King), with everyone following the 10 commandments, and with everyone loving their neighbor as themselves, and a few very honest and highly respected judges to decide important matters, and with a small municipal branch.

So the answer is really, none of the forms of government we have at all, they are all corrupt each in their own way.

This should be a great thread..... here is my S&F

My opinion is a monarchy system......a king that rules according to his laws. He personally cannot be defeated by anything. He has an impressive army if needed and is ruler over all.

Mankind has no right to rule over other people...... almost said men.

How have we done so far? Not that good.

Since Jesus was always referring to his father in heaven - I guess Bush-style family dynasty in American version of democracy is the closest to bet for.

Judaism at that time was a communist monarchy. The monarchy was a social partnership with the people. Aside from this was the Synod of Elders which consisted of 70 of the leading minds of the day. Each of who has to be versed in every language of antiquity.
seeing as some would claim Jesus is descended from David somehow. And he was the king. And it's good to be the king.
So therefore jesus, like simba just can't wait to be king

What am I wrong about? I simply said that before you can know which form of Government Jesus would go for, you need to know how Jesus wants people to live. Seems to me that Jesus taught humility and a detachment from material wealth. So would he really want a form of Government which maximizes prosperity and material wealth, or would he prefer a life style more akin to how the Amish live, without technology and next to no government? Personally I think if you want maximum prosperity, socialism is a good choice, but not the best... but since you're obviously creating this thread as some biblical justification of your own political beliefs, it would clearly be pointless for me to try to debate the issue with you.

No, God warned people about a monarchy specifically in the Old Testament, he said it was a really bad idea that people would come to regret. God was very very much against any government except for honest and intelligent judges and low level municipals.

If you believe Jesus is God, then one would have to believe that Jesus saw government, any government, any type of government as inherently able to become evil (which they all have).

Jesus only approved government would be one based on the 10 commandments and love your neighbor as yourself. No other form at all, Judges would simply use the 10 commandments with no addendums as the basis for law and punishment. If everyone was honest and cared for each other, there would be no need for regulations or government or military. So anarchy is not what I mean.

The christian god is a dictator. As will his son Jesus be upon his "return". The bible is quite clear about that.

The following is my opinion as a member participating in this discussion.

What form of government would Jesus go for?.

Holy cow. Excellent question. You got me. I read that and thought and thought .... I have no freak'n idea. Taking into account the complex world we live in and all the problems ... He'd have to come up with a new type of government that we have never heard of. Nothing that is on Earth now is working.

As an ATS Staff Member, I will not moderate in threads such as this where I have participated as a member.
