Due to general age stumbling upon ' new catch - thingies' ... ( can't be classified as phrases anymore ! )

I felt the need to look up - "afk "

Sweet ! Sorted ! ?

No.

Oh yes ... I now know that it means "away from keybored" ...

But this forthcoming link threw me .

Some I've been able to figure out by what the person is trying to convey.

Did you know there was a book called First World Problems?! I was wondering why people suddenly started saying that.

Good grief...many of those listed are utterly ridiculous. Easier to type out plain english than have the other person lost in translation.

I never had to use that one when I was younger. My mom never bothered me when I was online... but we didn't have internet very long.

I used to have an "ETSLWMOS"

Ex-that-still-lives-with-me-over-shoulder.

I never typed that out though... I was so glad when she moved out. I'm not glad she stole my rent money for her own security deposit, but still glad she's gone.

Although google CAN be a friend , I must admit that I am at a loss to your post...[confusion emoticon]

However....yo dawg wus up?!

Yo dawg, u got the signs posted for our homies?

I may sound racist, but seriously I live in a 'hood' and am learning the signs, lingo and what NOT to do.

They respect me, cause I respect them [read, I won't snitch on them and they wont break in my house or kill me. We got our own justice in the hood around here.]

My post is weird by my own standards, but truthfully, this is THE most f'ed up state I have lived in. Mafia in Philly had standards....they don't around here. It seems that gimme/ welfare/ ghetto tude prevails with no sense of old school ethics.

Sorries 'bout that.

What would work for me is an Ebonics dic. for net slang in those terms.

A pic. dic. for the gang signs would be helpful for those caught in the crossfire of a changing hood.

"know your enemy"..

good post

For the longest time I thought SMH was a sigh, lol. Then I found it it stands for "shaking my head" and felt so silly. Just recently leaned how to pronounce meme too, I'm way out of touch.

You think thats bad? I thought it was for a newspaper, very confusing times when people would randomly be dropping a newspaper acronym when i said something sily.
