Those are dromedaries, also known as the arabian camels
or the indian camels.

Good to know! Did you check out the info on their dairy site and the benefits of camel milk? Fascinating stuff!

I tried camel milk once it was kind of lumpy.

Yeah, no. There are more than enough cases of Muslims twisting the West's arm to get what they want. So no use in making stuff up.

On topic: I find the flag amusing, albeit depressing.

Out of interest is the law protecting flag from modification actually enforced?

Did they really do anything to desecrate or alter an official CA state flag? I say no. They made an entirely new flag. They didn't take a flag, cut out the bear and sew in the camel. As I understand that is breaking the law.

With that said - flying this thing as an official banner at government buildings is a no-no but no one is doing that. Just a little fun I say

We are having a terrible drought.

The Southern end of the Valley hasn't had water for years.

It's a crisis nobody wants to talk about.

Well, we are talking about it now.

Clever, we have so many native camel here....Not

They can't touch that Flag. I love my Grizzly Bear.

I thought the New California Republic Flag first appeared in Fallout:New Vegas.

As soon as I get paid again, I'm getting a shirt with it on it.

It's a piece of cloth. Extreme nationalism leads to bad things. Or did the 20th Century teach us nothing. Being insulted by freedom of expression is one thing. Making it a crime when people complain about nanny states and too many laws and unjust punishments is another.

I cant believe this has went on this long...

ISIS did say they would raise a flag in the White house.

I would think there would be a California state flag there somewhere.....

It's against the law to put the camel on there.

No its not against the law, Supreme Court ruled its covered under the first First Amendment.

The United States Supreme Court in Texas v. Johnson, 491 U.S. 397 (1989), and reaffirmed in U.S. v. Eichman, 496 U.S. 310 (1990), has ruled that due to the First Amendment to the United States Constitution, it is unconstitutional for a government (whether federal, state, or municipality) to prohibit the desecration of a flag, due to its status as "symbolic speech.

I don't know about the camel, but the way things are going, the -sand- is probably appropriate.
