So basically all the gratification of a real women with none of the negative (nagging, expenses, child support, arguing, fighting, having to "listen", her stuff all over the house, ect) aspects?

Seems like this is a win-win for us guys. *shrug*

Ladies, time to step up your game! (joking)

You know I got a bit of a taste of this when I was getting divorced. For the first time in 8 years well really in 12 years I wasn't getting sexual or aany physical contact from a woman. It wasn't because I couldn't it was because I was a mess and depressed and didn't try I just wanted to crawl inside a hole and die. Eventually the desire to be in contact over came my desire to wrot in my misery and I got out there and have been happy since.

I say all that to say this, your right just experiencing that 4 month stretch of solitude was enough me to pitty people who are societal casualties who don't fit in, who are mentally I'll, or disfigured. A life without human touch from the opposite sex or the sex your attracted to is no life at all its damaging, and not surprising people loose there mind and purpose over such things.

Hug someone today you post touched me. Thanks

There was a time when I was in love with the idea of sex robots. But then I saw Ex Machina. No thank you! If I wanted to have my head toyed with and then left broken and alone I'd find myself a fleshbag woman.

The only ones who'll ever have sex with sexbots will be - or already ARE - "sexbots".

Then again, there are a lot of those.

Yeah, I also enjoyed it a lot. Reminded me, somewhat, of 'Her,' which I also quite enjoyed. But with less wish fulfillment fantasy. Ex Machina felt more real to me, though I guess the tech in Her was more plausible.

I can easily imagine that it will not be long before we reach a level of hardware/software sophistication that will allow for the creation of a machine that is nearly indistinguishable from a sentient/feeling being. I believe we will not only converse with machines on a personal level, but will also become emotionally attached to them in many cases. I’ve read about cases in the military where soldiers became emotionally attached to their companion robots (robots that sniff out mines, use infrared to detect possible enemy troops hidden in the brush nearby, etc.). These machines have saved their lives in many cases. It seems that when one of these robots is blown away by enemy fire, or whatever, the soldiers in it’s unit have often shown truly emotional feelings of sadness, depression, despair, etc., and have even given their silicon sidekicks fitting funerals. So, when robots that can carry on simple conversations and mimic basic emotional responses hit the market, you can bet people will become attached. When it comes down to it, we humans are easy. In the future, when people say they love their new computer, they may really love their computer.

Eventually, these machines will come to out-think us, out-philosophize us, and out-perform us on most levels. But, will they be sentient? I don’t know. Unless their design will somehow allow for the emergence of “subjective processing”, feelings, empathy, compassion, etc., I don’t think they could be considered sentient. However, by all appearances they will seem to be. And that’s what matters most, because people are quite naive and easily fooled.

Maybe we place too much emphasis on sentience, anyway. It’s not like it’s a requirement. Actually, a super intelligent machine with a sense of self would likely pose a far greater threat than one without an identity. Eventually, I believe certain classes of machines may become self-sustaining; machines will create other machines, they will repair themselves, program themselves, and even undergo a natural evolution (they will implement improvements to each successive generation). I don’t think being sentient, though, is necessarily a requirement for a machine to act autonomously. Who knows? We’ll see...

At any rate, Larry Flint (is he still alive?) and the rest of the porno industry has a long, promising and prosperous road ahead. The possibilities are endless and truly boggle the mind. Ladies and Gentlemen, START YOUR ENGINES! Get ready to hit the fast lane!

Later...

Gave me a great idea for a story plot, imagine a world where humans and machines interact irrespective of each others identity's, imagine the machines being programmed to manipulate, on a mass scale all the while no one knowing, the machines are machines. But a machine becomes aware.. Lol I could go on haha had me day dreaming it's late

I've done enough research to form a solid opinion.
I have no interest in porking an android.
Real women are better than good enough for me.
To each their own.
There is no accounting for taste.

Sex with robots will be ‘the norm’ in 50 years, say experts.
Men are considering the prospect with curiosity and a sense
of humour. But academics and feminists are terrified and
calling for them to be banned.

The creators of Pepper the 'emotional robot' have forbidden
users from using it for sexual purposes, creating 'sexy apps'
for it or reprogramming it to stalk people.

won-t-used-sex-porno-films.html

While Softbank wants Pepper to behave like a good little
robot and not a spicy sex-bot, the fine print is somewhat
ambiguous, with some people taking it to mean customers
are not barred from physical relations with the robot,
just from using it for “improper purposes.”

“For whatever reason there are huge numbers of people
who just don’t have a relationship with someone they
can love and someone who can love them,” he said.
“For people like that, I think that sex robots will
be a real boon. It will get rid of a problem they’ve
got, fill a big void in their lives and make them much
happier.”

It’s a view that has been described as a “terrifying
nightmare” by robotics ethicist Dr. Kathleen Richardson.
The development of sex robots and the ideas to support
their production show the immense horrors still present
in the world of prostitution which is built on the
“perceived” inferiority of women and children and
therefore justifies their use as sex objects.
We propose that the development of sex robots will
further reduce human empathy that can only be developed
by an experience of mutual relationship.
We challenge the view that the development of adult and
child sex robots will have a positive benefit to society,
but instead further reinforce power relations of inequality
and violence.

“Sex can never not be relational. You need another person.
If it’s not relational you’re really masturbating,” she said.

These complexities are the kind of moral, ethical and legal
quandaries Professor Cheok expects to air at the conference.
loveandsexwithrobots.org...

The Australian-born digital expert specializes in human-computer
interfaces and thinks robots will be integrated into our lives
in the short-term as friends, sex objects and care-givers
before the relationships develop and could even include
different levels of compliance for the types of relationships
people want to have.
“We really don’t know how human society will react.
The worst-case scenario is that people begin to have a robot
partner rather than a human partner,” he said, adding that
this could happen to a “small percentage of the population”
similar to the way people have died after being gripped by
the reality of video games.
“There will be some people … that prefer robots over humans
but I think that won’t be the majority. I think most people
will prefer to have real human relationship.”

Seems some people will jump anything ,
even if it doesn't have a heartbeat !

It would be nice if they became commonplace and we were able to upload information onto them, they could become like our super heros and our lovers, as well as our wives!

We just need to program them to clone us and manipulate DNA so we can have kids with them too.

If they could be self aware that would be best so people could love them and they love us too.

They could fight wars for us as well.

Think silons from BSG

It's so bizarre to me that eons of evolution and centuries of technological innovation result in the development of such tools, so depraved and degrading to our humanity. Just how advanced are we really?

I bet we could make them better than us in every way, this may become a new trend, instead of upgrading your computer you can upgrade your robots!
