He rightly won the Academy Award for best supporting actor for that part. Truly amazing.

That is also one of my favorite movies. I especially love the scene where he was tap-dancing down the street, singing and smacks into the pole.

Plan on watching this movie tonight. So sad

Another film he should have got an Oscar for IMHO. To give the convincing performance he does....he had to know and understand poetry.

He should have won for that film, one of his best IMHO.

I've never cried when a celebrity has died before but find myself upset with this one. When Robin Williams lived in San Francisco, he had a dinosaur topiary in his yard that his family would wrap lights around at Christmastime. Every year my family would drive by his house to see the dinosaur lights, such good memories.

The first movie I took my son to. He's 24 now. We both still have fond memories of that.

Aww lord....I've not got much done today when I woke and fired up my computer to see this terrible news. I'm packing up house as I'm moving on Friday.
Today my personal world stopped and stood still.
I've shed a tear on and off all day. I see news reports, postings on the net, and I keep asking why? But inside, I can understand why, but wish somebody, anybody, could have just seen the signs that night. Part of me thinks he was in that dark, dark place here bailing out was the only choice that makes sense, like the blackouts when somebody is inebriated thinks is the best option. There is a part of me that can't understand with his life long addiction problems, and the level of care and support he had available to him, that nobody could see a suicide being a possibility.

You were so lucky to experience his uniqueness and quirkyness at close quarters.

I watched this on tv when I was expecting my first child. I wasn't due for a month. I laughed so much, especially in the last third where he talks of conception, pregnancy and birth, I thought I was going into early labour.
Thank you Robin for taking the fear out of being a first time mum.

When I was at the movies watching "The Fisher King" I was actively thinking "he should get an academy award for this".

That from someone who went to see the movie because it had Jeff Bridges in it.

He was amazing in that movie. He could do anything.

In the movie 'Good Morning Vietnam' Robin Williams character is told to commit suicide because he is going to hate his roommate.

The farewell speech at the end of 'Good Morning Vietnam' & 'Aladdin' are very beautiful, just change a couple words around.

If you haven't seen Popeye (1980's movie) it's pretty funny
