Why would CNN mix two different crash sites when having abreaking News story about the MH17?

That is because CNN is considered a fourth rate news source that needs to make things up to attract viewers.

CNN's ratings continue to spiral downward, with the network's prime-time shows losing half their audience, compared to February 2013.

According to the latest Nielsen ratings report, Fox News Channel is the only cable network whose total viewers climbed since this time last year, Deadline.com reports.

CNN favorite Anderson Cooper dropped by 47 percent from last February, with his 8 p.m. time slot averaging just 421,000 viewers this year. His show dipped by 46 percent in the news category for viewers age 25 to 54 to 127,000 viewers.

Part of Cooper's woes could be coming from the two shows he's sandwiched between. His lead-in, "Erin Burnett OutFront," dropped by 39 percent to average 293,000 viewers, marking CNN's lowest numbers in that time slot in more than 20 years. The Burnett show also slipped by 32 percent in the news demo, attracting 100,000 viewers.

It seam that both russia and the western News media are just messing around With this thing. Its like the Public is not suppoused to know the truth but be supportive of media and plotical views. Keep in mind that moste of the People dont go to a forum like this to gather knowledge, they just watch the News to get a update.

I get the feeling that both parties, especially Russia, are forced to play along with this game, because of a third party.

There is a bigger situation behind all this.

Why would they choose to impliment a missile that dosent belong to the MH17 wreckage. They must have chosen that image/vidoe for a reason. The missile wouldnt just randomly show up on its own.

In the original report from het Il-76 crash rebels were combing the wreckage for anything salvageable - there are many photos of them looking at ammunition, and a few carrying missile tubes (which don't actually look serviceable) - it is only speculation on my part, but possibly the missile was highlighted to the original cameraman as a munition being carried on the aircraft, an that is why it was photographed in the first place.

It cant be a mistake by the producer because he would know the set up they are going to air With the story.

You assume het news media is all knowing and always perfect. As I have said before and someone else noted, they are forever using wrong footage in news reports - it's not at al unusual.
