What's more ignorant?
Having a spiritual master scientist that we could simply
ask as an oracle scientific questions we have and the answer
is freely given?

Or teetering over trial an error, experimenting, going back to the
drawing board. Endlessly starting over sometimes living our
whole lives away with out coming close to the answer we seek?

Neither since the word ignorant doesn't apply to either situation.

science almost NEVER gets anything right on the first try. And if it does, then they probably only THINK its right. at least science is willing to put their conclusions to the test.

I think you're wrong. There is obviously a more preferable
choice. Making the other choice more ignorant.

your opinion is not fact, yet you continually speak as though it is. as though your word is the only one that is required to establish reality.

you think an awful lot of the stuff between your ears.

That's hardly the truth. But I do try think an awful lot with the
stuff between my ears.

I asked a simple question.

then perhaps you should think about how not to imply that your opinion is the only one that matters. it is a mere suggestion, now lets move on with the discussion.

Since when do the words "preferable" and "ignorant" mean the same thing or are antonyms of each other? Ignorance is just a state of knowledge towards a subject. Neither of your statements speaks towards existing knowledge on a subject, they are both just ways to go about acquiring knowledge about the universe. Like I said, the word ignorant doesn't apply. Do not try to change definitions of words to suit your reality.

Poor choice of wording aside, I'm going to break down your two choices here.

The first choice:

Having a spiritual master scientist that we could simply
ask as an oracle scientific questions we have and the answer
is freely given?

This would be an excellent source of information if these things were known to be true: 1) the information provided is always truthful and 2) there is evidence that such a thing exists. Neither of these things are known to be true. I can ask questions of god all day everyday, but I always get the same answer back from him. Silence. I've never asked a question such as "why are we here?" then all of a sudden a booming voice echoes in my head and answers the question.

Also, if you are referring to the bible with this statement, then you just reduced this option to the most laughable source of information possible. The bible is a TERRIBLE source of scientific answers.

Or teetering over trial an error, experimenting, going back to the
drawing board. Endlessly starting over sometimes living our
whole lives away with out coming close to the answer we seek?

This is the only method shown to arrive at the correct answer without any outside help.

Your choice boils down to. "Hey it's SO much easier if we just ask god!" Well to that I say, nothing worse pursuing is easy buddy.

Would it be alright if I rephrazed the question?

What's more preferable?
Having a spiritual master scientist that we could simply
ask as an oracle, all the scientific questions we have and
the answer is freely given?

Or teetering over trial an error, experimenting, going back to the
drawing board. Endlessly starting over sometimes living our
whole lives away with out coming close to the answer we seek?

ask someone and assume they know what they're talking about.

test it and find out for yourself.

is that what you're asking? because i think i know which one you want us to choose, and its the stupid one. sorry for the choice of words, but its true. i personally do not trust oracles anymore than i trust a facebook horoscope. krazyshot explains it better than i do, so you should refer to his/her post for a more in depth breakdown of why consulting an oracle is a bad idea when science is readily available.

Just a silly question anyway.

But it was in response to this.

point being, spirituality ought to be the last element in any scientific investigation because of how little science it requires. and the less science involved, the more ignorance as a result.

Care to address the advantage you have over me?
Whereby you know full well what my ideas are, being
laid out on the table for ridicule. Care to level the playing
field?
