It has been demonstrated that we have the technology and resources to make the deserts bloom; desalinate unlimited fresh water; feed everyone on the planet a healthy diet; provide relatively luxurious living spaces . . . for several times the current global population.
BTW,
WWW.ARCOSANTI.ORG...
Is worth checking out in terms of housing folks well in relatively small footprint spaces.
Oh by the way, cutting down a forest is not a sin (no where in the bible does it say that).
Ps. Stop using fossil fuels is the only way to fix the problem. But we all know that will never happen.
Just my 2 cents input. Keeps the change.
its called a debt system. Anything affiliated to the federal reserve and the bis and imf is in a debt system using fiat currency. This syphons money from all layers and settles at the top. So, the top either just adds more money into the system to pay for it or the bottom layers take back what was taken from them and fund it all with the money stolen from them. But there is no profit in a debt system designed to never be paid back.

Are there alternatives to hydrocarbon energy economy ? Of course, but the path needed to accomplish these changes will not manifest through the market system protocols required since new solutions can only be implemented through the profit mechanism. People are not investing in renewable energies because there is no money in it in both long and short term and the commitment needed to make it happen can only occur at a severe financial loss. Hence, there is no monetary incentive and in this system, if there is no monetary incentive, things do not happen

And here was i thinking organised religion was all just a waste of time.
And i was wrong, if this news is anything to go by.
This woulod be all the energy we would require, and not one drop of oil, nor a single chunk of coal, nor a cubic cm of gas would need to be burnt to power our homes for the next 15 - 30 years.
I hope so, too!
I hope they dump all of their stocks in one fell swoop and cripple the energy cartels.
