Immoral and unconstitutional process. No person may be deprived of life, liberty, or property without due process of law.

It should be up to the state that the money was made illegally, not up to the citizen to prove that it was made legally.

Exactly.

What happend was basicaly a on the spot $50000 fine wirh no trial.

Cops these days are just heavy-handed government bailiffs/tax collectors

Same in the UK. In my town we have local stores robbed and owners threatened in broad daylight, criminals fitting card-cloning equipment to local ATM's, residents' garden sheds and garages robbed of expensive tools and garden equipment. Crime is escalating and cops just give out 'crime numbers'. Cops just say 'we don't have the manpower to deal with it'.

Yet all too often the constabulary regularly seem to find plenty of manpower to set up several speed-traps for motorists, and that's because they rake in £100 a pop in on-the-spot fines, all going into the treasury.

Tax-collectors, that's all cops are.

Yeah mate, but you're talking about an idealist world.

And this ain't one of those...not for a long time.

I'd hate to be a cop in the US...i'd probably be set up to be shot 'by an unidentified assailant' because i'd be trying to send more so-called cops to jail than the criminals i'm supposed to be tasked with stopping.

Another day, another attrocity from a bent American copper.

So the bank can take it and invest it for a x% return if it's successful, but leave you with nothing if it's not?

Giving banks money is foolish.

That's what they do. Savings banks are no longer different from investment banks. It has been that way since Glass Steagall was repealed. If you give them your savings, they invest it and keep all of the profits. If they lose it you're out of luck (well, FDIC covers you). Why let a bank do that with your money? It's a completely unfair deal.

Dirty, dirty cops. Seems the trend of 'leaders' these days. Sad times.
