I hate the new link to "A reply too:"
It creates a mini window instead of taking you to the source post in the context of the thread.

For example:
a reply to: Phage

Boo!

I don't mind that so much, but it needs a close option for when you click reply or quote to a post.

Unless I'm missing it, you have to refresh the page to get rid of it and to browse the page normally again

A wonderfully worded and awesome reply to: AlphaHawk

Hmm, interesting. I just had to try it out. Seems to work just dandy.

There is a small grey X on the right side of the popup. That should close it, or so it does for me.

There is for what Phage is talking about, but not for when you're replying to someone.

It's a minor thing, at least..

I really do like how the thread is visible while replying now, I've lost count how many times I've hit reply and then forget what what was replying to lol

I think it is ok. It shows you what the other person says, which is what you are looking for and when you click the X to close the pop-up you have not lost the place you were at in the thread, and when in the middle of reading a long thread, that is quite handy.

Eta. I did note that when the pop-up appears and you find the reply was itself a reply, the persons name in the popped up box does not link to and pop up the previous post to the reply. It would be handy if it would do a pop-up from a pop-up so you could trace back the conversation to its origin, whilst keeping your place in the current thread.

Speaking of replies...

What has happened to the quote function. Most of the time it seems to drop anything quoted by the previous person. It shows in the reply/quote you are creating but is not there once it is posted. I thought some of it might be due to messed up editing in the quoted post but that doesn't seem to be true.

Any one else?

Test?
Wait, you mean nested quotes? If so, then yeah you are right.

Nested quotes disappeared a while ago, weeks ago IIRC.

I believe it's done so you can customize your reply to: Phage

Like above.

How does one trigger the REPLY TO popup?

Can't find such a button.

Yeah, its not so good this new reply thingamajig.

I battle enough with getting my Android keyboard to write something intelligible when on a mobile device. This new reply to function only makes it harder because the cursor starts in front of the a reply to text

The button is in the upper right hand corner of the post that you are replying to, extreme right.

You see the code and words in the editor but isn't in the actual post.

What happened here with quoting...

edit:

OK, it is set up in the editor but is not shown in the actual post. Guess I only noticed the nested ones messed up.

Looks like it is in the page html...something broke

All I see is the normal reply button in the upper right corner.

I still don't see a button to trigger the popup with the quote I'm replying to.

Sorry I'm so clueless on this.

I misunderstood you.
When you want to see the post that is being replied to, click on the highlighted username in the post, that brings up the popup. Since I quoted your post, you can see my name highlighted... and yours too, so you can pop up either post by clicking on the highlighted name.

Test.
To BO X, just click the reply like usual, and it should pop up a window right below what you're replying to.
The only problem is that after you post your reply, it doesn't take you back to where you were....you have to manually go back and try to remember what page you were on...
also - I wish the thread TITLE was in the popup. This will take some getting used to.
