I am certainly not a stranger to sleep paralysis and crazy vivid dreams. However, this particular one has me stumped! Can anyone give me any ideas
what this could have been? I welcome all theories!
My husband was leaving for work and as I heard the front door shut I automatically started to feel the vibration starting that accompanies right
before I go into a sleep paralysis episode. I have read that this could lead to a OBE, but for some reason I was not willing to accept that and I got
scared. I was saying "no no no" in my head because I was not wanting this to happen, especially since my husband had just walked out the door.
I call out to him right away and then he comes in the room. He stood there against the bed and I told him I almost had a sleep paralysis and he held
out his hand. I grabbed his hand and I automatically could tell that it wasn't his hand. (I saw him, and the shape was/looked like my husband, but it
was apparently NOT my husband.) It was at this point that I could hear the car door slam outside our room. Then, I knew that my husband was outside
getting in the car and this shadow was NOT my husband.
I told this thing "you are not my husband" and he said "it's me." I didn't even feel threated, but I still acted like I was being threatened. I
grabbed his shirt and knew that it wasn't the shirt that my husband left wearing. (Why am I still trying to convince myself that this thing is not my
husband?)
I get up and walk him over to the bathroom to look at him better. I punched him in the face and the back of his head hit the faucet. He said "ow,
what was that for?" and I grabbed him by the shirt and escorted him to the front door. I noticed that the door was chained lock from the inside. I
don't know why, but that seemed important to me. (Maybe it was obvious that my husband couldn't have locked the door with the chain and leave for
work?)
I opened the door and said "by the way, I am calling the cops."
I "woke up" and noticed that I was still in bed, but I couldn't tell if my eyes were already opened or not. I felt like I just sort of came to with
my eyes open, but I have no idea!
What do you guys think? This thing/shadow did not seem scary, but I still acted out like I was threatened.
Oh yeah, I NEVER did feel the actual paralysis that comes on when I get scared or realize what I am doing. That is why I am confused! I would say from
my millions of experiences that I SHOULD have became paralyzed when I realized the shadow was not my husband and heard the car door outside confirming
that my husband was leaving for work at the time. But it never happened this time.
Thank you for reading!
