As I already explained, when a people conquer another people, they usually round up and either arrest or exile the current leaders. It's politics. It's what the US did after we invaded Iraq. It's what Canada did to the Indian leaders.

That isn't what I asked you.

Are you willing to be convicted for the actions of your ancestors? Should you pay for the sins of your predecessors?

I didn't ask to be in a position of power, where I would be held accountable. Don't prisoners of war pay the price for their cause?

Your connection to your ancestor is pretty much the same thing as Harper's connection to the Canadian government in 1907 -- your great great grandfather had little or no power, as do you.

Are you accountable for his actions or not?

I feel alot of shame for how the crown destroyed so many beautiful people, stealing there land, trying to erase there past, steal there children to indoctrinate them in christianity.

Brings tears to my eyes that some of our fore fathers helped in this genocide.

Indeed, even worse is that history lessons in school will do best to downplay or just outright ignore these facts however.

First of all, these things were still going on up until the the '70s. Their effects are only now being acknowledged. Many of the perpetrators of these crimes and people who enabled these crimes are still alive. They should be hunted down like Nazis and be put on trial the likes of Nuremberg!

Second, there are some people who would hold me accountable for my ancestors, or my government's actions, and punish me if they could. It isn't up to me how other people perceive me. I could very easily be convicted of a crime I didn't commit. It happens all the time. People are punished for something that their government did all the time.

I agree that those who committed terrible acts in the Indian Residential Schools should be held accountable for their acts, and you'll find no post in this thread of mine that is counter to that.

But, to hold Stephen Harper, Queen Elizabeth or Pope Francis accountable for actions that they had nothing to do with? That's just stupid.

I don't know about Harper, but the Queen and the Pope are culpable. They weren't born yesterday and didn't just recently join their murderous institutions. The Queen has been overseeing the oppression and murder of indigenous people since 1958. I don't know how long Francis has been a Jesuit, but he is certainly NOT innocent.

How did Pope Francis affect any decisions, as regards Canadian Residential Schools, prior to his instatement in 2013?

You've dismissed your culpability in your predecessor's actions, why are you so incalcitrant to give the same to someone else?

The crimes of the Vatican, the Church and the Crown are not limited to Canada. They extend globally. Everywhere the Catholic Church has set down root, genocide of the indigenous population followed. Australia, South America, Mexico, Central America, Island Nations, etc., etc., etc.,

This isn't just about Canada.

This is my take on such topics.

If you are willing to voluntarily wear a uniform, wave a flag or advertise the fact you belong to a particular group / religion. You are taking on the goodwill and/or badwill of that group.

Eg... If I was to wear a Nazi uniform. I would rightfully expect some negative reactions. Even if I personally had never done anything atrocious.

You do not get to cherry pick inherited goodwill / badwill.

If people really want to distance themselves from a groups past actions. The ONLY option is to not associate with those who proudly represent them.

So I'm guessing that he ran out of money and/or couches to sleep on, lol.

I just finished a book, A Big Heart Open To God, which was an interview with Pope Francis by the Jesuit magazine America, and one cannot help but leave it with a positive view of Francis, no matter what denomination, or even faith, someone is.

Contrast that with the hatred and vile that is Kevin Annett, and only a fool would continue to support him in his delusional battles against the "baby eating Pope".

I truly feel sorry for anyone who has been duped by this idiot.

Who said he was? Did you once think he was? From the looks of your blog you did. You seem obsessed with Kevin Annett, like a scorned lover who can't walk away from your infatuation.

WOW! "The hatred and vile that is Kevin Annett"? I am continually amazed at the power you give this guy! You're better at sensationalizing and publicizing Kevin Annett and getting his message out than Kevin Annett!

The only argument you've come up with against Annett is his exaggerated figure of the number of murdered children, at the hands of the "church", and, that there were no bones where he had hoped to find some.

In the meantime:

300,000 babies stolen from their parents - and sold for adoption: Haunting BBC documentary exposes 50-year scandal of baby trafficking by the Catholic church in Spain

Up to 300,000 Spanish babies were stolen from their parents and sold for adoption over a period of five decades, a new investigation reveals.
The children were trafficked by a secret network of doctors, nurses, priests and nuns in a widespread practice that began during General Franco’s dictatorship and continued until the early Nineties.

Why doesn't this outrage you more than Kevin Annett and his non existent bones?

The ONLY argument against Annett? You have got to be kidding me.

The guy was pretty much B-Slapped by the First Nations for trying to claim he represented them when in fact he did not officially, they had to get a court order to stop him.

Mr Annett runs or tries to run a one man judge/jury/executioner sovvie cit court that puts everyone on trial for crimes against humanity and then tries to get others to break the law and execute his arrest warrants, most times with disastrous results for the people who try it.

Mr Annett has claimed that he singlehandedly vacated the Holy See/Vatican State, The United Kingdom, and Canada (which he now calls Kaneta) and urges his followers to go and "reclaim the property of those now defunct nations" which translates to "I decree they no longer exist so go steal their property and give it to me"

Mr Annett's research methodology and historical facts are of majorly dubious nature, I need to find it as he took it down when he redid his site a year or so ago, but he had the holocaust as murdering 90,000,000 people in the years 1942-1944, something even the National Socialists wouldn't have been able to accomplish even if every single camp they had was converted to an Auschwitcz-Birkenau type installation. Even Otto A. Eichmann only gave the total number of people they could execute in a year at 28 million and he used the following qualifier "If ever there were that many on the planet" indicating that even he did not think that a) there were that many and b) they could keep up with that number.

Mr Annett also uses a "slight of hand" technique, and passes himself off as an officially sanctioned "court" and dupes people that are so needy for something to believe in that they follow blindly without vetting him.

There's so much more that can be said about Mr Annett, but this covers the big ones..

Mr Annett is much ado about nothing!

The guy was pretty much B-Slapped by the First Nations for trying to claim he represented them when in fact he did not officially, they had to get a court order to stop him.

We've already covered that and the fact that some of the first nation people felt betrayed due to the fact the Annett broke their contractual confidentiality agreement.

However, it is policy of church and state to keep these issues hidden and not all first nation people are innocent. Annett did his due diligence and did the right thing in exposing these atrocities to the rest of the world, imo.

Again, already discussed. Annetts action can only be seen as symbolic at best, at worst, he's a loud mouth activist that has lost himself in his identification of his own victimization. He wouldn't be the first. If he was a s dangerous as you all claim, he would have been arrested by now!

Mr Annett's research methodology and historical facts are of majorly dubious nature

History is written by the winners. If it was up to the governments and the church, all this would still be swept under the carpet and there would still be many skeletons in the closet.

There's so much more that can be said about Mr Annett, but this covers the big ones.

Annett isn't the first and won't be the last to try to unmask the hypocrisy and the evil agenda that the bedfellows of the Vatican, the Crown and governments have perpetrated in their crimes against humanity.

Again, if Annett was the dangerous crook that you make him out be, he would have been arrested! Instead of worrying about a loud mouth activist crack pot, you should be outraged by the constant uncovering of information proving the premeditated atrocities that the Catholic Church has perpetrated against the most vulnerable people of our society.

SHAME, SHAME, SHAME!

You respond as if we don't care about what the Catholic Church is doing. I didn't leave the church because I just didn't like them, I left being a Catholic (I believe my term to people now is I am a Recovering Catholic) because I do not agree with their doctrine and their manner of doing business, what I do not like is some "loud mouth" as you put it, duping people into thinking he is legitimately chartered to do what he claims, when in fact he is not.

That's the issue, not the Catholic Church, they have enough strikes against them, and over time, hopefully LEGALLY and through the rule of real law they will have to answer for their moose-poo. Not to some moronic person hiding in his attic claiming to be a real international court (which by the way is the crux of all of this)

I really don't know why I waste my time responding to you, since your hatred of the church prevents you from seeing the truth, but I guess I figure that you're an intelligent enough person that maybe something will sink in some day.

Yes, Kevin Annett is a vile and hateful person. I would encourage you to read the book that I referenced, and then read this "open letter to Pope Francsis" and tell me that Annett is a good person.
