I see most religions as different expressions of the one God so I don't limit myself to just one book. Most expressions are symbolic in nature and difficult to comprehend without insight into their true meaning (for example the Old Bible Garden of Eden is ourselves, tree of life is symbolic for our nervous system, the apple is sexual energy, which when bitten turned our spirit back to the animal world) so examining expressions from different angles (different books) helps one understand each book better.

From Christianity viewpoint, I found The Gospel of Thomas very enlightening. It tells that early Christianity was very closely related to Hinduism before political forces watered down Christianity, perhaps www.ocoy.org... explains why. Books from Paramahansa Yogananda (hinduism) also very enlightening. Think meditation the key in seeing this world from the better perspective.

If I could totally surrender my soul to God I'd feel that I've accomplished my quest. Satanical forces (materialism, wanting to better than other people, wanting special gifts/powers, wanting to maintain self) have been the obstacles in my path.

Good luck with your quest.

Glen

If you must have a religion you can convince yourself is believable, try taking a religion you like or can believe in the most, and looking at it from a quantum perspective. Quantum logic will let you believe that your chosen religion is true to your particular reality, while allowing other people's realities to retain their religion and not create a system of you're right and they're wrong. You're both right from your personal relative perspective. It will provide a platform from which to seek greater truths. You could be a quantum jedi

I agree, take up a religion you can live and breathe for every waking second each day.

My advice.
Stop looking.

If you want to be true to both yourself and whatever religion or not you come to believe.
Stop trying to force the issue and see where your path takes you.
And always keep an open mind.

You see this is the problem, you cannot browse the internet "researching religon" because it comes from within. Everybody here is just completely full of #, I'm sad to say. The best way is to just ignore any type of labels and look for universal truth. You need to identify divinity, which has no theoretical basis and seek towards that. Anything anyone says here is full of #

There in lies your problem, you are seeking religion, never let man, religion or a book get between you and your god, it should be your own personal covenant.
No religions have answers, just indoctrination's.
Relax, what you seek will come to you, you'll find that what they offer you can find with in naturally.

You say you want your heart and intuition to lead you, so how do you achieve this? Looking at all the religions and spiritual systems you've mentioned and trying to 'find the right one' only means you still want to be told what to do, because all these systems are based on the mind and beliefs. What you really need if you are sincerely wanting to dedicate your life to uncovering the truth, is to understand how to look to your feelings for they are what will lead you into the truth of yourself. We are to find the truth of ourselves, nature, life and God through our FEELINGS and not with and through our minds. So how do you use your feelings to uncover the truth you are looking for?

You can begin by reading (see link below) what Mary Magdalene and Jesus have to say. Don't be put off by who they are, and I assure you it has nothing whatsoever to do with anything Christian or anything New Age - what they say is nothing like what anyone else says, even other supposed Jesus and Marys.

What they say is about our needing to look to our feelings for the truth of ourselves, which will lead us to the truth of God. And it is way out there and very advanced, it being the only way we can heal ourselves of all our pain, problems and confusion.

And if you choose to take on your Soul-Healing as they advocate then you can commit your whole life it, and it will certainly help you grow in truth. But as I said,it's not like anything else or what anyone else talks about. It's completely the opposite.

Scroll down and begin with the first two books speaking with Mary Magdalene and Jesus they are free pdfs.

I'm becoming depressed and slightly suicidal, I've been on the internet scanning videos and articles, searching libraries, and having face to face conversations with friends. I'm trying to find the truth to it all, But no matter what there's always a contradiction and counter argument to any belief system I drift towards (Including atheism). But it's so overwhelming when you look into all this new age occult teaching: Gnostics, Atlantis, sacred scrolls, etc. and this stuff goes on and on. Then there's the abrahamic religions which are just as complicated (Kamballah, Christ consciousness, Quran, Torah, The countless versions of the bible etc.) And who can forget about the hundreds of thousands of religions spread through ought the east? I'm considering dropping out of high school and becoming a bum just so i can dedicate my life to seeking truth. Then there's the whole new world order fiasco.

No, I will not resort to atheism. Not when i have had countless personal experiences with the law of attraction, astral projection, telekinesis, etc. Just no man. I want to just let it all go and let my intuition and heart guide me but can I really even trust that? I just don't understand how the majority of people can be so secure with their belief system when there's so much to this.

Debate, Advise, and discuss with me. I only seek truth.

Hi

You seek for answers, but your looking the wrong way.

People find strenght in others, religions and so on, cause they are scared of what they do not know. You can find security in others fate, but that is THEIR truth...

If you want the real truth, you must turn around and look at YOURSELF. What do YOU believe?? Trust YOURSELF, and explore your OWN beliefs. What is real for you??

Who are YOU at this moment of time? Trust that feeling and be proud to be who you are. Then you will find the truth

Peace

You need a principles-based religion - being good, and doing good, and also to refrain from doing things that you deem to be the reasons behind suffering on this planet.

Here is an an example:

Do not lie
Do not judge
Stand up for others
Take risks
Never give in

I shall follow my heart, and I shall realise the injustice in this world, and at all costs, I shall continue to fight and uphold these principles, and, make a difference to all, even those whom are seen as unworthy.

Pain is no object
I shall persevere
I will never persecute my enemies

I suffer from similar problems my friend. Especially the fear of eternal damnation. There is nothing that scares me more than the thought of that.

As a final note we all either seek eternal life, live in the now or just want an end or new beginning. So with that said I follow the one I trust who has conquered death. The one with true witnesses. And now, I am one as well. I'm not sure what all books say what, but there is a man that said he is the light, the truth and the way. If you want proof then it is as simple as calling his name. reply to: Rtardx

Why would you have to choose atheism or any other religion?

I suggest spiritualism, ethics, moral and common sense. Those are my religions, and they work beautifully for me.
I leave the secrets of the universe to science, i'm not a scientist,i probably won't ever be a scientist and am not interested in being one.Creation of life...i'd rather worry about getting rid of disease, poverty, starvation and lack of water first.

The most practical and useful thing you can do, is worry about problems that affect the world RIGHT NOW, and problems that could affect our future as a race. I'm not a human-lover but i'm far from wishing death upon us all.

Religion is on my list of problems that need to go away, wether it is christianity, buddhism or islam. Ideologies are also on the list, capitalism, socialism, communism, liberalism all that crap needs to go first, then we can start work on solving hunger and poverty on any given country by choosing a method that would work for said country or region.

This is what i mean by being spiritual, by being at peace with yourself and working towards the future of us all, eliminating the corrupt and the immoral, the sick and the hungry.

Isn't that what all religions, ideologies and whatevers want?
Is we all want the same thing, the let us work towards it once and for all.
