LONDON, Ohio — A man stopped for speeding in central Ohio was charged with illegally making or possessing an explosive device after nearly 50 bombs and four guns were found in his vehicle.

Andrew Scott Boguslawski, 43, was arrested late New Year’s Day on Interstate 70 west of Columbus. Investigators found two pistols, two rifles, 48 explosive devices and tools and materials to make additional explosives, according to The (London) Madison Press (http://(link tracking not allowed)/1gBVvmT ). Also inside was a remote detonating device, Assistant Madison County Prosecutor Nick Adkins said.

Ohio police: Man stopped for speeding had 48 bombs

Look I'm not a cop but if I were, and did what I thought was a routine traffic stop and find a guy sitting on two pistols, two rifles, and 48 bombs... I'd be craping my pants!!!

Hey wait... were not missing any members from the survival threads here on ATS, are we?

The very next line in the article reads...Investigators are trying to determine why...
Why? he was on his way to visit his ex... maybe stop at the bank to make a withdrawal...Oh wait I know he was on his way to Target to talk to them about his stolen Credit Cards!!!

I have a feeling this story is going to be one to watch...
edit on 7-1-2014 by HardCorps because: (no reason given)

My guess is he was probably gonna blow something up.

10 bombs sure maybe hes a collector but 50!!!!
Maybe my tin foil hats on to tight but my spidey senses tell me he was up to no good

one media labelled " bomb " with terrorism implications is another mans demolition charge

an explosive device can have many uses - and this tail is so far - too long on hyperbole and too short on context

That is interesting for sure. He is for sure a decoy for the one or two that are smuggling or transporting something really nasty. I must say that no one exceeds the speed limit when they do not want any problems with the cops. Some folks can do the speed and still get pulled. This guy was a plant.....

This cop is obviously lying. The article states that the cop noticed the "handle of a gun between the man's knees". Let's work out the geometry of this real quick. If the grip was between his knees, the barrel had to be either pointing away from him towards the dash (which the cop would've noticed instantly) or inwards towards his testicles.

And no man, no matter how desperate, would point a loaded gun at his own testicles. Although there are a lot of idiots who like to tuck their pistols underneath their belt line without a holster... this is a different breed. He had to make a conscious decision to tuck (forgive the word in this context) that barrel right up against his junk.

I'm not buying it.

Rule one when transporting contraband - Don't speed. Just have to wonder about things like this.

Honest officer, I'm a collector...
this one is my favorite pipe bomb... I call her Bertha... isn't she cute?

Judging by the number my first guess would be this guy was trying to sell them rather than use them... I mean that's a lot of bombs... why make so many... why not just make one big one???

And this Hand Grenade belonged to my mother...that's why it's pink

48 is a lot, guess they're not needed for tree stump removal. Since he was traveling on 70 heading west no clue on what his goal could have been beside maybe trying to make it to the next state.

Is that a Glock in your pocket or are you just happy to see me?

You and I would never sit on or stuff a firearm down our pants... but I've met a lot of people who would, did and probably still do...

As for the cop lying??? was his mouth moving???

Well, they say that you don't need to fear the man with dozens of weapons. You need to fear the man with just one weapon.

They also say rules are defined by exceptions, huh? Talk about one heck of an exception! Why 48 anyway? Why not 50 or 42? Yes.. 42 is a nice philosophical number. So what gives? Were there 47 targets with a spare thrown in for good measure (no pun intended)?

Oh those little details bug me... The guy is a fruit loop with far too much sugar, by the sound of it.

I don't think this guy could be part of any demo' crew. I've never seen one ever in any rush, as a buddy once told me "I'm in no hurry not like the building is going anywhere be for I get there".

Watch the 48 be a bag of M80's, since they never gave any details on the scale he was transporting.

I agree... while I'm not a demo kind of guy... but I do like to watch things get blown up...If I had a bunch of bombs in my car I sure as hell wouldn't be speeding.....

not unless I started to hear a countdown timer beeping at me...

with 48 i get the feeling that its probably some sort of stuff in a crate or 2 as a lot of stuff sold trade is sold in 6/12/24's (like beer)

might be some sort of pyrotechnical stuff and once the cop saw it with wires and everything he probably thought he'd be chief of police by the end of the week for stopping some terrorist

Not sure what the laws are on the transport of explosives in the USA but in the UK large quantities of explosives normally involve specialist couriers with the right stuff should things so off with a bang
