That is just the beginning...

Obamacare is DOA.....the only people that don't get that.

Temporarily reside in Washington DC.

Was just thinking this same thing yesterday. Strange How Obama is sure that most Americans still want Obama care. He really needs to wake up from his dream and see the truth.

Frankly, it shouldn't matter if people want it or not. It's wrong to require people to buy health insurance. It's morally wrong. The ends don't justify the means.

But that's the whole gameplan with these people. Convincing the public that the ends justify the means. And you know what? I'm afraid it's going to (eventually) work. Why? Because people don't understand they're being manipulated. And more, even if they did, I'm not sure most would be smart (or principled) enough to care.

They only care when they think they're losing money. They don't give a damn about principles.

The political strategists and propagandists know exactly what they're doing and most of the people who will have to live under this law have no idea what's going on.

Just so you all understand, Obamacare is never going away, it's 100% impossible. It's like boiling an egg, you can never reverse what has happened. Changes may be made .. but a lot of what has been done can not be reversed, it's too late. We have mandatory meetings hospital wide now due to all the problems Obamacare is causing us (and other things as well), and people had hoped the ACA would disappear, and it's simply impossible .. even though the ACA will cost my hospital $130 million in lost reimbursement.

And what do you think single payer is, free? No. You pay for it with taxes. Just like food and housing, you will be paying for it.

I don't want "single payer" either. I was fine with it the way it was. I didn't have insurance but nobody was forcing me to do anything. Insurance never was anything but a racket. But we let it go on because you could opt out. Well, now it's mandatory so it's an official racket.

The real medical crisis is (and always has been) that healthcare just costs too damn much. Doctors and hospitals could go on charging $100,000 for an operation because the insurance companies were absorbing the impact. That obviously didn't fix anything and people who didn't have insurance still got slammed with $100,000 medical bills. Which taxpayers ended up paying. They created the perfect storm to force this garbage on us because if you protested they'd say "What do you want to do? Let the uninsured die?"

No. I want to let my doctor sell his boat and a few of his cars and charge a reasonable fee for his services.

My sister is a nurse. She gets paid $50 an hour if she works on weekends. That's $400 for an 8 hour shift. That's why healthcare costs an arm and a leg. Some people could almost pay their mortgage with $400. And these are the people who have to buy insurance now.

ObamaCare was NEVER intended to provide health care...it is a device by which to further control 300 MILLION plus supposedly free people. What you eat, drink, exercises done (or not) INFLUENCE the collective. All YOUR personal choices (and doesn't the Left drumbeat choice...as long as you make the one THEY choose) now affect everyone else. CONTROL!

Go to school, excel at hard sciences, train as a medical professional who makes life and death decisions hourly...the govt will now CONTROL how much you can earn, for the good of the collective. Any wonder why MINIMUM wage is now being (possibly) raised? Throw pennies at the bottom of the collective and take dollars from the top...for the "good" of all.

Socialism FAIlS consistantly, but the power hungry will NEVER concede that...they are convinced, and convince the gullible that it WILL work THIS TIME with THEM in charge.

I agree. I've been saying this all along. That's exactly what they're up to. But it's worse. Because they're mixing "mental health" in with normal medicine. They're scaring the piss out of everyone with these stories about crazed lone gunmen shooting kids. (Don't get me wrong. It's horrible if it's real but they're blowing it way out of proportion)

Now that they have given themselves dominion over the healthcare industry, they will argue they have an obligation to screen everyone for mental problems. I wouldn't be too surprised if conspiracy theorists turn up on the list of "dangerous people" who need "special treatment". Of course there are some dangerous people who happen to believe in conspiracy theories. We can't help that. But this is just an excuse.

They will, of course, have a direct conduit into every aspect of your life through "healthcare". They will argue that mental health is too important to leave to chance. And people will believe them because after all, haven't we seen what crazy people can do?

Oh I knew all along it wasn't going to go away.

TBH, I wasn't paying attention to the debates and election noise in 2008. I didn't exactly trust Obama but I figured he couldn't be worse than Bush. I didn't see the individual mandate coming because frankly, I was exhausted from 8 solid years of political bickering over the stuff Bush was doing (and getting away with).

I knew it would either be Obama or Hillary so I just stopped paying attention. Mandatory health insurance was the furthest thing from my mind when Obama was first elected.

So it came as a complete shock to me when I eventually found out about it because it was just unbelievable to me that they would do this.

But I also have a pretty good intuition and as soon as I found out it had been passed, I knew it was done and nothing was going to stop it. Why? Because they don't do stuff like this unless they know they can get away with it. The Patriot Act and the spying thing for example. They just brushed any outrage aside because they knew they could do it and there wasn't anything anyone could do about it.

I also knew that whole thing with the Supreme Court was a charade. There wasn't the slightest chance they were going to strike it down. None.

And even the supposed Republican opposition to it has all been for show.

Need evidence?

They made a big deal out of Obama's blatant lie to the public about being able to keep their insurance. Eventually, he capitulated (again, this was probably scripted).

But they barely ever mentioned that the whole law was a lie. He said there wasn't even going to be a mandate and then turned right around and supported the mandate. Why didn't the Republicans nail him on this lie the way they nailed him on the lie about keeping your insurance?

I'll tell you why. Because they never had a problem with the mandate. They just wanted to make it look like they did. They knew passing bills in Congress wasn't going to do anything as long as the Democrats had the Senate so they could make a good show.

That mandate is a big deal and they all know it. The legal precedent it gives them is insane.

This whole fiasco just makes me sick! I am one of millions of American citizens who struggles to make ends meet on a daily basis, my husband has a pre-existing condition (broke his back in 2002), I have no insurance because it's completely unaffordable and my children are covered by CHIP here in PA. We never really even entertained the thought of buying a health insurance plan because of our income, and neither of our employers offered it anyway.

I had seen the Michael Moore documentary "Sicko" and was impressed with the health care supplied/offered by other governments around the world. I was excited to see where Obama would take it here at home, but I am so very disappointed. There is no way my family's budget can take the hit; neither for the cost of the ACA nor the penalty for not signing up! It is actually inducing anxiety where they previously was none... and there are health issues related to stress lmao! It's just one ridiculous cycle of health care woes.
