I've noticed a few months ago that some companies use a "mailto" service when you want to email them.

My problem is that it asks us where the mail program is on our computer... Where do I point to if I use Hotmail? (lol I know they changed the name of the service but it stupidly evades my lazy brain... :/ )

Here is an example; hotpawscanada

I feel like they don't want to hear from their customers when this mail service is offered...

Thanks

You don't point it nowhere. It only works if you have installed E-mail client.

Try thunderbird by mozilla.

No probs, BUT, that's not the whole part.
Be sure to connect your e-mail client with hotmail.

Depending on your browser, you should only have to adjust a built-in setting with no need to downloading any other program.

You might be right with that. I use Firefox, and there probably was an add-on for that.

I think I tried it, but I probably got clumsy and botched its implementation. It's a love-hate thing with e-mails...

mailto is just a link, that says "hey open this with the default mail client" since its just a link
you can just copy the link to get the email address that's embedded in it and use that.

yup, its just a basic shortcut as simple as a text file that opens your email program and puts the "to" info in for you.

I find it quite annoying myself
