Wow wow wow!!! This thread is legend! I recently made a comment in another thread (about Nazi's actually winning WWII) where I stated that it was the Communists who have infiltrated America's Democrat party and what you have written supports my assertion beyond anything I could articulate.

In examining the fruits of PC its easy to see that those supposedly "helped", werent.

When they banned the Santa Claus who sang "Ho, Ho, Ho" to supposedly "protect women"...where are the women who were protected? Where are their Testimonies of being offended and hurt by Santa Claus? I`d reckon there are none.

An impressive thread that demonstrates the dangers of the Political Correctness Movement (PCM). Sure, one can argue about the true origins and nature of this movement, but the fact is that it's currently one of the major driving forces behind the destruction of freedom of thought/speech and fun.

We are not all equal. We are not all the same. The right to be offended is not an inalienable right that should be exercised at every opportunity.

It's time to stop this madness.

but I gotta say other than that our society in Sweden seems to be functioning reasonably good, not too much to complain about, so measuring that way I guess I'm pretty liberal, at least in a worldwide context.

Center-Left and Center-Right Governments usually do pretty well. Its the childish extremists who wreck countries.

I hate political correctness as much as everyone else, but I just can't agree with the premise of the OP. If PC is all about destroying America, then why is it so prominent in some parts of Europe and, as of late, of Latin America as well?

IMO, if some puppet master is really behind it, then his aim (or should I say his/her, so I don't sound too sexist?) must be some form of control and not the destruction of a nation or of its values.

I actually think the end game, if there is indeed one, is the people to willingly surrender their minds to their governments, to give them permission to police their thoughts in an attempt (they will be led to believe) to finally put an end to racism and sexism and homophobia and all other forms of discrimination.

The OPs theory is that it started as an attack on America in the 1920s and 1930s but was then extended to a worldwide thing.

I'm not sure I understand. The premise of this thread, as I understand it, is that the KGB began spreading the seeds of political dissent in the US, in order to undermine it's global power.

The Communist Party and the Nazi (National Socialists) Party were not, and never have been, the same thing. Could you explain in a bit more detail?

Most of us didnt care what "color" someone was until PC came around and kept reminding us how supposedly very important it is and how every single movie, ad, or group picture needs to contain someone asian, someone white, someone black, someone brown and in exactly the same number in order not to make anyone feel left out.

I think we would all be surprised to find how many people are getting fed-up with PC idiocy. As you know, anyone who attempts to follow its ludicrously inconsistent guidelines will be reluctant to criticize it openly.

I guess America's prohibition era wouldn't be a terrible comparison. Pretty much everyone continued to consume alcohol. They just didn't let it be known outside trusted circles. If the PC trend is allowed to continue, maybe the next Al Capone will deal in illegal books and newspapers.

The very idea that it has now become illegal to offend someone is abhorrent to everything this country stands for or other countries should aspire to. If you don't like the 911 "truthers" shirt, avert your eyes. If you don't like someones conversation, walk away. If you come to an impasse, agree to disagree. If you need to duke it out, take it behind the woodshed.

We were not cut from the cloth of those who go along to get along and pretending to be has done nothing for us as a society. It has become the single most successful tool of divide and conquer ever conceived because it divides us on multiple fronts, not just obvious ones. Its not just black or white, male female, democrat republican. It encompasses so many divisions that everyone is guaranteed to offend someone else.

This may be the driving force behind an attempt to get wrestling dropped from the Olympics.

Marxists not only called Religion an "opiate of the masses", using the word "masses" as a derogatory in the sense of "dumb sheeple", but considered sports similarly. I bet that according to some of the PC minds ALL of those ghastly male-dominated, competitive win-lose based sports have to be removed.

If this sounds exaggerated to any reader out there, then watch the disgust with which social-sciences-feminists look upon boys playing rough games or sports.

Yes it would sound exaggerated to anyone that hasn't seen it or has seen it but doesn't recognize what it is. I know of two cases one high school one college where the female athletic directors seem bent on creating an atmosphere of hostility between herself and male sport coaches and male sports. Derogatory comments are made, lack of service attitude ect. Female athletic directors that cant appreciate male sports as much as the men do should be fired like any other bigot.

As you know some can still be legally offended and are exposed to such offence on a regular basis.

Say for example Oprah's comments abroad about racism being the primary component of opposition to Obama politics.

Also the class and race based, common pejorative couched as an intellectual observation, "white privilege".

Political correctness is a zionist construct to further the one world order agenda. It means intolerance of criticism. It is designed to place limits on freedom of speech and criticism of globalist programs. In other societies limits on the freedom of speech were imposed through targeted assassinations, imprisonment or termination with extreme prejudice. America is more democratic and tolerant so more sophisticated means of controlling freedom of speech are employed. Unpopular criticism is heaped with ridicule and labelled hate speech or if unpopular is not reported in the press.

- to challenge any aspect or the holocaust, buys you prison time in countries where it is deemed "self evident". The truth does not fear investigation but apparently the holocaust does. This is the ultimate in political correctness.

- Multiculturalism programs designed to insert culturally diverse groups in societies which ultimately destroys the uniformity, nationalism and ultimately the fabric of society is deemed racism if challenged. Look at how disruptive this policy has been in Europe, Canada and now in the US with a wide open southern border. This is part of the zionist agenda to ultimately dismantle national borders. To criticize this politically correct policy, makes you a racist. If you criticize the open border policy, illegal immigration, or benefits to illegal aliens, The Dream Act or Amnesty, all insane globalist programs, you are most definitely racist.

- Challenges to globalist policies to weaken the family, such as workplace equality programs which diminish the role of men as the breadwinner, again bring accusations of racism and discrimination. Better to shut up. These policies like feminism, encourage women to be independent not want to be in a family situation. This is progressive public policy to empower women but god forbid legalization of prostitution as this is not politically correct.

- ACLU and other groups attempt to undermine christian symbols such as the cross in military cemeteries. To mount a challenge will result in charges of being intolerant and a religious zealot and allowing church and state to co mingle. Attacking Christianity and Islam is politically correct but to attack other religions like Judaism is politically incorrect and anti - Semitic.

- If you are a male in the workplace and offend a woman either intentionally or accidentally, you are looking at a sexual harassment charge, and buddy, your career is over and out, thanks to political correctness.

- File for divorce and you see who has more rights. Invariably the woman gets the bigger half and custody of the kids even if she caused the breakup. Because she has the kids she keeps the home. Any wonder why nobody wants marriage today. This plays into the globalist strategy to breakup up the family unit. Sex and immorality are encouraged and decadent entertainment is available everywhere. Again this promotion and open available of sexual entertainment plays into the destruction and breakdown of the family unit. It is a politically correct judicial system that protects women's rights.

- Target a nationality or racial or religious group for criticism and you are a racist. Criticism of all racial groups except for Muslims or white Christians is off limits. Criticize a jew and you are a anti-Semite or self hating jew, criticize a black president and you are racist but criticize a white person and that fits into the confines of political correctness.

- TV sex and violence have no bounds. Violence never had limits placed on it in western media or Hollywood. Sex used to be forbidden. Now all holds are off with "Brokeback Mountain" and numerous other Hollywood productions that portray non marital sex with either gender as a societal norm. Perverse sexual practices are acceptable. There are no limits or boundaries on decadence. To be critical is not politically correct. Gone are the days where Vivian Leigh had to be draped in a shower curtain in the Hitchcock thriller Psycho. Perversion and decadence are societal norms today. This is where political correctness has gotten our society. This is the new political correctness. To be critical makes you some type of non conformist relic from the past.

- Gay lifestyles are glorified in press and hollywood today. This is taught as an accepted lifestyle in sex education classes in schools. This is an abomination before god and yet it is a lifestyle to be emulated. Best not to criticize it or you single yourself out to be a bigot, racist or hate monger. The entire society is slipping into moral decay and decadence and political correctness makes it a taboo topic. This new political correctness has even been carried over into the military. Who cares if it affects morale and the ability of the troops to be at the top of their game as long as it is politically correct.

-Abortion again a topic protected by political correctness. It is a violation of the work of god. To be critical of abortion today, especially as a man, makes you insensitive to a woman's right to have control over her body. The moral aspects and religious indignation are irrelevant considerations. There are arguments on both sides of this issue but there is no doubt America is under judgement. No doubt which side God is weighing in on. Abortion today is politically correct as governments try to find ways to have the state fund abortions. Better not argue against it.

- Sex education for pre-adolescent children is the norm today. They are taught about Homosexuality being normal along with general sex ed long before puberty. Any wonder why kids are sexually active at a younger age than ever and teenage pregnancies are at record highs. The globalists want to turn America into a country with no moral compass. Perverse lifestyles will be revered as America morphs into a modern day Sodom and Gomorrah.

- Criticize the policies of a non white politician and you are politically incorrect and a racist. However It is politically correct to criticize white leaders.

- Affirmative action was a program to give priorities in education and other areas of endeavor to visible minorities. This was political correctness. To criticize such programs makes you a racist. Best to shut up.

- Child molestation is politically incorrect unless you are government sanctioned; a CPS worker, or TSA employee.
The absurdness goes on and on and knows no boundaries. It goes on because we do not say enough is enough.

I'm sorry if my comment was unclear. There is another thread about the Nazi's that was recently posted here on ATS. The premise of that thread was that the Nazi's actually won WWII because they infiltrated the US. (I do/did not agree)

I had made a comment on that thread, whereas I stated that it wasn't the Nazi's that infiltrated America but that it was actually the Communists who infiltrated America (via the Democrat party).

I believe that this thread by Skyfloating backs up my assertion in numerous ways.

I hope that explains my original statement more clearly.

What do you suggest could be done to establish the nations society and culture perfectly in your opinion? Basically your argument has to do with the government taking biased positions or something? And also the thought that certain opinions and thoughts are formed for people and then those people are afraid or dont even think to challenge those thoughts? If this is what you think, it must be true that you think there is a hidden rightness, in which if all people were to question the PC thoroughly they would arrive at the same conclusion, can you describe what the nation may be like, operate, culturally, socially if that conclusion was made? I agree the gender neutral bathrooms are silly/stupid and it bothers you that such a small minority has so much power over a majority and you are bothered with the power and stupidity of government to be swindled into thinking that it is the righteous and correct thing to do, and yes I see your argument there, this then is a problem of intelligence in government across the board and lack of philosophical and cultural discourse and discussion with community.

The affirmative action thing im not sure about, and I dont think its only towards african americans. But it really is not too long ago where black and white people werent even allowed to be in the same schools, and even after that time the universities were highly populated by rich and white people, as time progressed and people did more and more colleges were created and more and more races were acceptable of each others presence. I think affirmative action is just a way for the colleges to try and increase the number of african american students, its not demeaning them and saying dont try because its easy for you to get into college because your skin color, its saying if you try hard your effort will not be in vain because now these lofty temples of academia are accepting your kind, and for many reasons most likely.

I guess a better way of putting my earlier questions; if PC was eliminated today, what would the nation appear like tomorrow?
