The more that I sit back and examine the fallout from the application of the ACA the more I smell a rat.

First of all the ACA was modeled after the health care law that was implemented under Romney in Massachusetts!?

This was a piece of legislation that was designed and written by insurance company interests and lobbyists. All the while masquerading as some kind of "social healthcare" system. It is nothing but.

It was with a nod and a wink that both sides postured back and forth. All the while they had the same goal. And that was to distract you and I.

A law was enacted that is seriously flawed because it does NOT reach the heart of the problem. Americans didn't need health INSURANCE, they needed healthcare.

Oh, there were ways to make it so, but no one in the legislature had the will. They are too bought and paid for by Big Pharma, Big Banks, Big Insurance, and Billionaires.

The MSM for over a month has been nothing but the "Obamacare Website". With a little sprinkle of a shooter at LAX, some Rand Paul plagiarism, and more NSA revelations. But you cannot turn on the TV or Radio or the CMA without hearing about the disaster that is the AMA.

Tell me ATS, what are we not focusing on that needs a real hard look?

What about the TPP?? No one is really talking about that. That has the ability to just wipe the rest of this country out.

I am really saddened by all of the infighting. Collectively we could make a difference if we could focus on one thing.

We aren't focusing on:

Chase Bank Limiting CASH Withdrawls and disallowing funds to be transferred outside the United States.

The Coming Hyperinflation which will affect nearly everyone.

IMF Laying Ground for US Wealth Confiscation even though we should have had our heads up when it happened in Cyprus.

It's better to argue about Obamacare with your disagreeing friends, rally with the ones in agreement, and hate on Kim Kardashian.

How much did we spend on our foreign military adventures last month?? Let's add it up. Drone strikes, black ops, support for military dictatorships in lands that American corporations have interests, destabilization of countries for the benefit of Western interests, billions of dollars in military support for countries like Israel..et al. I could make a whole new thread on the bs that is funded by our government.

Do you understand what QE is?? If not let me give you a primer. The Fed prints 85 billion dollars a month that is used to buy US treasury bonds. Do you get that??

You are pissing and moaning about something that I am not even sure is factual. Even if it was, it is so miniscule to the problems that we actually face.

What about the bombers that cost billions of dollars that have to be scrapped.

Duh. Duh. Duh.

What are they up too?
If you look at all the legislation that is going on, it all seems to have one thing in common. To force you to submit trackable personal information into the DHS's database. That was the point of the photo on the Voter ID card, the real point to the immigration legislation, the E-Verify system, the government run healthcare system, florida's “connect” system, forcing doctors to make all your medical records online accessible, full background checks to fly, NSA spying, DNA collection by police, etc... the list just goes on and on.

Someone wants the cattle tagged and tracked, and each little piece of the puzzle adds a bit more to what they can collect, and what you must submit.

When you realize the people who are wasting billions of dollars on the things that you complain about, are the same people that are wasting 1000 million dollars on the things that we are complaining about - you will have learned.

They are the same - the republicans and the democrats. They have the same ideals of stealing as much money as they can from the american taxpayers and lining their own filthy pockets to attempt to destroy our country - and then simply, move away with their ill=gotten gains.

Do you think they keep thier money at citibank? or goldman sachs? in america?

My God, they've moved their wealth off shore before the came up with the tax laws that punish other people for moving their small amount of money out of the USA.

We are headed for an orchestrated dark depression. And they won't be here when it happens.

I feel your pain. I just think there are bigger fish to fry. As long as there is infighting amongst us, we cannot coalesce to attack the machine.

I guess that was really my point.

The population is so divided because of the billions of dollars and effort spent to amass a media infrastructure that is dedicated to distract and incite hate and animosity amongst the common man.

Anyone who can't see this is part of the problem.

I believe you're in California? I could be wrong. I'm in Wisconsin, north of Madison.

I really believe from the beginning of this administration, that they've been striving to start a "race war". It wouldn't play out in the midwest, except for in the inner city of Chicago (maybe) but the blacks and the hispanic have been killing eachother for years there.

I think their real focus was in the southwest, and maybe the northeast (highly populated areas).

You know, americans in general aren't that high percentage "racist" as they believe we are. All of us middle class people know, and work, and are friends with all kinds of different races, and religions, and such.

Americans aren't that different - we shouldn't let them "divide and conquer" us as they seem to think they can, and will.

Let us keep our earned income, and give us a help up if we fall on hard times. Isn't it really that simple?

PS - stop "america" from being the "terrorists" that we think other countries are. Get us out of the middle east, and stop war mongering.

I'm surprised more people didn't see this coming as the name gave it away... If they call it "affordable" you can be sure that its singular purpose is to BANKRUPT the country!

Spot on.

I'd like to add mental health to the list, it's the hottest topic on the MSM nowadays, what with all the shootings and all. But lucky us, with the new Affordable Care Act we'll all be required to possess comprehensive mental health coverage! So now if you're crazy enough to complain about the TSA or the NSA or god forbid your rights! You'll be able to seek treatment right away before ever posing "a threat to yourself or your community".

My gut tells me the ACA is paving the way to forced committal in mental institutions, a classic tool of the dictator. Dr. Drew was pushing this very idea on CNN today as common sense, everybody agreed with him. I'd also put my money on mental screenings becoming prerequisite in the near future for: jobs, public schools, driver licenses, and pretty much everything else needed to function normally in society.

It's official, though crime is no longer sci-fi.

I work in "mental health" - I tried to read the DSM 5 the other day - have a bad day = you're Mentally Ill. - diagnosable anyway.

See the "home visit" mandate in the obozocare act and be frightened. If you smoke cigaretts, if you're a mother under the age of 21, if your kid isn't doing well in school - HOME VISIT!!!! By an "authorized" obozo mental health detector.

I believe you are 100% accurate.

The real power on both sides is bought and paid for and completely agreed about this issue. I think it's ridiculous that I'm being forced to pay up front for something everyone knows they won't deliver when I need it. It's no different than tricking someone into a mortgage they can't afford so you can collect their money and keep the house too- and just like that scam, afterwards they're going to claim that they were somehow also cheated and harmed by the scam and need more money to avert a crisis. Yet even still, I find the opponents of the act and all of their media and arguments shrill and unappealing- I'd be ashamed to be connected to that stuff. The Republican side of this, the billionaire-controlled astroturf elements of the Tea Party in particular, has actually encouraged reasonable young people who plan to incur the fine by disobeying likely to remain silent about it and not disobey in any organized way at least. I don't think they want it defeated, I think they want to scare us, cloud the issue, and create a setup for both sides to blame eachother for causing the disaster when insurance companies are looted of the windfall by their bankster owners and suddenly say they need a bailout or nobody's grandma get a new heart paid for.

I went back to find Dr. Drew's transcript from CNN today. Here's the piece I was talking about:

DR. DREW PINKSY, HOST, HLN'S "DR. DREW": I wish there was some magic wand, Brooke, we could wave, but one of the things I have an issue with is physicians being able to mandate care for patients that really need it.

I would say we need to have some sort of law to help physicians, maybe two or three opinions or something, when a patient really needs care, that you can make the patient gets the care, even if they don't want it, if it's to their own good and the good of the community.

And this is really weird! This is Google's home page right now. Wow!

The truth about medical care in america is that if you have something to lose - say equity in a house, or property - or a retirement fund - or stocks - you better have insurance because they will come after you until all of your "wealth" is gone.

If you're in a car accident, taken to the emergency room, in intensive care for a week and rack up a $500,000.00 bill - they could garnish your paycheck for eternity, but you don't have anything to lose if you don't "own" anything.

You can't get much blood out of a turnip.

Do illegals pay anything for their healthcare in the USA when they walk across the border giving birth? Do the mexicans drive their ambulances across the border and just drop off their critacally ill patients at the emergency rooms in the border states?

Oh, that's already happening, at least in my state.
If you are sentenced to prison down here, and the state still feels you are someone they want to keep off the street, even though you've legally “done your time”, they can lock you in a mental institution indefinitely.

I found this out because a friend of mine is DOC. I was talking to him one night as he was getting ready to head to mental institution with the “riot squad”. I asked why the state corrections officers would be called into a riot at a private mental health facility, and that's when he told me that the state holds prisoners there beyond their prison terms. Now admittedly these are really bad people, but this is a bad policy IMHO. If they are that bad keep them in prison, using mental health as a prison is exactly what communist police states used to do with political prisoners.
