Guess where the Money Trail leads for ObamaCare?

Always follow the money trail. And this is going to be an eye opener for many here on ATS.

www.huffingtonpost.com...

WASHINGTON -- The White House defended its ethics record on Wednesday after reports surfaced that one of its top health care policy officials was leaving the administration to take a job at a pharmaceutical giant.

Liz Fowler left her post as deputy director of the Office of Consumer Information and Oversight at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services for a senior position in Johnson & Johnson's government affairs and policy group. According to Politico, which first reported the departure, Fowler would be leading the company's "global health policy," which has raised a few flags.

Meet Liz Fowler. Liz Fowler's Profile

But like true ATS'er we always follow the money trail back as far as we can.

www.zerohedge.com...

Following the passage of ObamaCare, several of the smartest people I know claimed that the bill was actually written by and for the drug and insurance companies rather than “the people” as Obama had claimed. My friend and orthopedic surgeon Dave Janda wrote an excellent piece that I published titled: Thoughts on Obamacare from a Surgeon and Friend .

In recent days it has emerged that Liz Fowler, who is said to have been one of the key architects of ObamaCare, is doing what any good revolving door crony capitalist would do. She is moving to the private sector to receive her payoff. Trudy Lieberman of the Columbia Journal Review explains that:

Now here is where it gets interesting, yep it looks like she wrote it folks, but why did she leave?

Well I think this just about answer it.

www.democraticunderground.com...

What was most amazing about all of that was that, before joining Baucus' office as the point person for the health care bill, Fowler was the Vice President for Public Policy and External Affairs (i.e. informal lobbying) at WellPoint, the nation's largest health insurance provider (before going to WellPoint, as well as after, Fowler had worked as Baucus' top health care aide). And when that health care bill was drafted, the person whom Fowler replaced as chief health counsel in Baucus' office, Michelle Easton, was lobbying for WellPoint as a principal at Tarplin, Downs, and Young.

Why in the heck would anyone in their right mind put an former health care industry giant, in charge of writing ObamaCare?

That is like putting a bank robber in a vault, saying he can live there, and leaving the doors open for all of his buddies to come in an take everything they want, whenever.

Whatever one's views on Obamacare were and are: the bill's mandate that everyone purchase the products of the private health insurance industry, unaccompanied by any public alternative, was a huge gift to that industry; as Wheeler wrote at the time: "to the extent that Liz Fowler is the author of this document, we might as well consider WellPoint its author as well." Watch the five-minute Bill Moyers report from 2009, embedded below, on the key role played in all of this by Liz Fowler and the "revolving door" between the health insurance/lobbying industry and government officials at the time this bill was written and passed.

I'm sure some people here on ATS will somehow be able to justify this absolute unethical, hypocritical, and criminal healthcare reform.

All I can say is "What a fool believes."

Peace Out,

RT

Although I was not surprised I was sickened as to how Washington DC does not represent anyone here in the USA anymore, but is rather completely controlled by lobbyist's, and large corporations.

They write all of our policies.

Let me repeat that for some of the ignorant that think their votes and party actually matter. lol

They the large corporations write all of the laws, policies and we the people are just sweat equity to them.

Ron Paul has been warning people about this forever -

The insurance and pharmaceutical companies have guaranteed themselves an even more profitable future with the help of strategically placed insiders. America - the land of opportunity! (If you're a corporation).

The revolving door in Washington might as well be taken down and all the banks, insurance, pharma, oil, and military suppliers just move their headquarters to the Capitol.
Oh wait, they already did that.
Just save us the hassle of voting and at least we'd get a couple hours back that were otherwise wasted.
These corporate hacks infesting DC turn my stomach.

Where was this Info when the bill was being written or debated?

Did the republicans go after Obama's camp with this?

No need to answer any of that, Its rhetorical.

In the new spirit of ATS this is not a partisan issue now and always has been, and here is why.

It doesn't matter what side anyone chooses anymore because any party in Washington D.C. is merely a puppet for special interests, and large corporations.

We can have an illusion of a new party or even a new government, but as long as the large corporate interests run the show, then the characters will change, but the content of the story remains the same.

Why do you think the democrats and republicans are different? Ever hear of the 'Controled Oposition'? It is just an illusion to make us think we have a choice and control of the country.

Top Senate Democrat, Dick Durbin's confession

“And the banks — hard to believe in a time when we’re facing a banking crisis that many of the banks created — are still the most powerful lobby on Capitol Hill. And they frankly own the place.

While this looks like "news" back when the Obamacrap was been written and debated in the house, we here in ATS exposed who where the ones behind the bill, but guess what, nobody listened, most people had their heads up the socialist agenda propaganda, now I find very interesting and even comical that people are posting the surprise, guess what is old news for many of us, that actually dissected the Obamacrap and warned others

She was not the only one it was a group of them, I wonder if the other ones that were behind the bill had gotten jobs with big corporate America in other fields.

BTW, Obama also had close door meeting with Insurance companies and big Pharma, while debating this bill and in order to gain the drug companies in his favor he did an about face on how the people in America were buying drugs across the border, something that he was supporting before Obamacrap, we got legislation against such practices.

America government is corrupted and dirty and money from the corporate mafia runs like rivers in the hall of congress, I wonder when people will get it into their thick heads that we do not longer have a government for the people

Marg,

People these days are so brainwashed to choose a side, be it Democrat or Republican, that they will defend it blindly, all the while, never understanding, or having the awareness they are being played like fools.

"Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me."

As corrupt as the government is it get's down to awareness and as soon as people catch on, then maybe we'll actually have a chance of changing thing for the betterment of everyone, instead of a small ultra rich interest group.

Marg I always love your bluntness. lol

LOL! Very true.

The problem is nothing really to argue here, or "Red Herrings" can't be tossed in either.

I personally think this topic is one of the most important wake-up calls, if people actually take the time to settle down and free themselves of their ego's and partisanship.

What I find even more interesting about this topic is the fact, not one paid political troll has dare stepped foot here, or even if they have they are to cowardly to attack the truth.

Spread the word.

Many of us knew this, I have to wonder what is Obama going to get out of all of it, it must have been an enormous prize, the way he has fought for it.

A thought I had while reading the OP...I wonder if any big investments have been made on the market in any of the companies soon to pull down major profits off this bill. If the investments could be linked to politicians that would show cause for all the entrenched fighting and unwaivering defense of a so obviously flawed piece of legislation. If you had just invested a large sum in a company you had inside knowledge would receive a huge advantage soon would you wanna lose that bet you made...NOPE. So you defend and lie and make up false stats and hope you can fool the public for long enough to make a profit and when that house of cards falls (which we all know the ACA will fail miserably) they will have long made their profit and pulled out leaving those investing by the rules (not trading on inside knowledge) holding the loss. All speculation but I tend to believe my logic over most of the bs I'm told on a daily about why this or that.

If there wasn't I would be surprised.

Heck even when 911 happened someone, or large group knew ahead of time and shorted the airline stock all the way down.

When people started asking who did this of course it all led to dead ends, on who made tons of money off of the tragedy.

Ya its a shame people will talk forever in a propaganda piece but when some factual info comes out that we just got rammed without KY there is nobody around to say anything...

And people wonder why this country is so screwed up...

If people all get together this crap will not go on as long as a thought... But we just hide behind football, beer, and American Idol and hope the crap might possibly get better..

For the record I don't drink and I don't watch football or American Idol..

Now the problem with finding out who. If it were me I'd be having a cut-out do the investing or more likely I'd have a number of them. People who have no ties to me and have no clue about the real source of the money they're investing. Then after the predetermined time the shares are sold at profit and said profit is paid into a number of my anonymous off shore tax shelter type accounts over a set length of time. This would make it really hard to tie back to them and near impossible to track once the funds start being shuffled through bank havens. We need a way to keep tabs on said companies investors maybe we will notice a pattern in that money trail...then we would be getting to the meat and potatoes of the problem of corruption in DC. If we only had one way to monitor the politicians in this country that'd be it. Watch the money because they can't rule without it.

It depresses me to think about how we went from a nation of fighters and constitutional holders, to a nation of dumb and stupid people, even I was one of those that gave my vote to the that think that now call himself president in the white house.

I the last 30 years we have become a nation of zombies.

Sorry if my post comes out to strong, but I did not mean to bash the OP just the news that now seems to make it to the light and the public eyes, but when Obama was debated everybody in politics and news media played dumb, while pushing the socialist motto, this make people completely forget who were the people and corporations behind the bill.

No worries I understood what you were saying.

I feel the same way, if some people get offended maybe that is what it takes to wake them up.

Enough coddling it's time to make those in charge accountable for their crimes, corruption, and self-centeredness.

Just think what would happen to anyone of us if we committed the same crimes. 10 years minimum

Here's a small list. Political analysts believe the Affordable Care Act has holes in it not because it was rushed through but because the private companies wanted to be able to haggle and amend it:

thehill.com...

"Yvette Fontenot, a former staffer for both the Senate Finance Committee, which wrote ObamaCare’s tax-related provisions, and HHS's Office of Health Reform, which is assisting the implementation. "

"Former Rep. Earl Pomeroy (D-N.D.) joined Alston & Bird in 2011 after dealing with healthcare and tax issues as a member of the House Ways and Means Committee.

Now Pomeroy and his one-time chief of staff, Bob Siggins, are lobbying on ObamaCare for clients such as clients such as Vision Service Plan, the National Coordinating Committee for Multiemployer Plans and Medicare — a health insurance provider."

"Former senior counsel to HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius Dora Hughes became a senior policy adviser at the law firm Sidley Austin last year. "

"The White House brought on Clinton administration veteran and former lobbyist Chris Jennings last month to help navigate the implementation of the law."

This article has a set of maps indicating the insurance rate changes. Sometime as high as 300%, especially for men between 25 and 40
