The former Australian deputy prime minister Tim Fischer – who played a leading role alongside former prime minister John Howard in changing Australia's gun laws after the 1996 Port Arthur massacre – has urged Australian tourists to boycott the US to send a message about gun control.
"Tourists thinking of going to the USA should think twice,'' Fischer said.
"I am deeply angry about this because of the callous attitude of the three teenagers [but] it's a sign of the proliferation of guns on the ground in the USA."

I agree - I live in America and if someone gave me an all expense paid tour to New York City, Boston, California - I wouldn't go.
And I am very careful travelling through all the other big cities on my way down to Key West, every year.
Never drive through any big city in america in the dark - not even on the interstate.

Ahhhh, gun control.
There we have it.

Guns and America's gun worship culture are the issue.
Guns do not stop crime in fact they make it a lot easier to commit crime. A criminal with a gun is more likely to act his/her insane thoughts than without one. Why? Because guns make weak people stronger.
It is obviously too late to outright ban guns in America since the easy access to guns there allows anyone to own one. There should be stricter laws though. Open carry should be outlawed, I mean how are cops supposed to know who legally allowed to carry and who is not.
Give very extreme harsh penalties to those caught with weapons. Time in jail automatic. Caught using a gun in a crime..automatic decades behind bars. Killing someone while committing a crime...if found guilty. No appeals if there is video footage, more than three witness's, or suspect confesses. Take them out back and execute them. No sitting on death row...etc.
I repeat guns GUNS MAKE WEAK PEOPLE STRONGER.

Why did no one bring up the obvious reason?
The gun culture in America. The glorification of the gun..etc.
But the gun enthusiasts will say and do anything to avoid the obvious connection.

But these guys are all the same - they are like animals - they came from animals - and they're breeding animals -
I'm not attempting to be dramatic here but I happen to agree with you.
My question is - why? Why is the government allowing if not encouraging this? Take it a step further and project what the state of the USA will be when the next generation of children with these type of people as parents mature to 14-15-16? Oh my God.
Makes me a believer in mandatory military service. That being said I might have just answered my own question. But I guess that's for another thread.

THE teenagers accused of murdering Melbourne baseball player Chris Lane were dobbed in by a local who claims his son was the trio's next target.
Chancey Allen Luna, 16, and James Francis Edwards Jr., 15 have been charged with first-degree murder over the fatal shooting in Duncan, Oklahoma. Michael Dewayne Jones, 17, was charged with using a vehicle in the discharge of a weapon and with accessory to first-degree murder after the fact.
James Johnson, 52, called the police to tell them that the accused killers were hiding in the car park of the Immauel Baptist Church car park at about 5pm, two hours after they allegedly shot Lane.
"My son called me and said, "They're saying they're coming to kill me," so I called the police and they got here within about three minutes," Johnson told the Herald Sun.
Mr Johnson claimed that Edwards Jr had threatened the life of his own 17-year-old son Christopher on Facebook. His son was at home with his mother and sisters near the church when he received the death threat.

Sure it does. It's called justice. So what, you stick in them in a prison for life and the country forgets about them in a few months. Prisons are overcrowded and whose to say that, at some point, they decide to let these scumbags go. Of course, we all know how well prisons help rehabilitate their inmates to return to society, so I'm sure they would be fine upstanding citizens when they got out.
Again, BS!!
They need to line them up facing AWAY from their executioners and let the guards fire until they are dead. Oh yeah, lets make sure that they get the execution on TV so all the other little bastards can see what fate awaits them if they want to keep acting like uncivilized morons. These "kids" premeditated 1st degree murder (maybe more than one if you read one their FB posts). They should die and die quickly.edit on 20-8-2013 by Freenrgy2 because: (no reason given)
Would you rather the government moved them into your house and have you adopt them?
Does killing these kids do anything to bring back the victim? The obvious answer is no. Answering violence with more violence accomplishes nothing other than ensuring the furtherance of a viscous cycle.
