Probably ordered the media (yeah, ordered) to keep quiet, in case a couple of thousand chancers dress up as firemen and start nicking the gold..if there's any there of course.

I would think that the gold storage area would be very high tech and protected from fire with high end systems.

But that only may be what stock holders and investors are told for justify some huge building costs that didn't exist.

With JPM’s gold inventory plunging 66% Friday to an all-time low of 46,000 ounces, and with reportedly over 502,000 ounces still standing against JPM for the JUNE gold contract, is the long anticipated force-majeure event in progress?

Imagine the horror if the FDNY has to open the vault to check for hot spots... and all they find is a paperclip, an old dime, some lint and an old Tic-Tac (incidentally... same as the contents of the right front pocket of an old jacket hanging in my closet)...

Think "Geraldo" and "Capone"...

All those handwritten IOU's down there will keep this baby burning for days!

Have to wonder though, just how much combustible material is down there and whar fire suppressant systems they have. After all, all the paper money, one would hope, would be secured in fireproof areas, not sitting in piles next to an old electric incandescent fire to keep it warm down there!

Even if its not money or gold burning....there defiantly are a lot of other things kept in bank vaults......like paper trails.

Im just going to wait for the other shoe to drop.

Amazed at how there is no media coverage of this JP Morgan gold vault fire. It has massive implications.

Interesting comment from a post on another site:

I never heard the words “Basement engulfed in flames”, just that a fireman had said that there was a fire in the basement, If the building covers a block, it could be in a completely different area and away from the metal vaults. I do not see how a vault could catch fire. One other thing, lots of fire trucks and ambulances but not one police car or officer seen in 14+ minutes of video footage. Very odd when there is that much wealth in metals being exposed to danger. Don’t know what to think.

It's called the JP Morgan building,
but JP Morgan is not located there.

Of course, JPM has long since moved on from its landmark location just across from the NYSE, and now can be located at its Park Avenue headquarters (with its Bear Stearns annex), and of course, at 1 Chase Manhattan Plaza.

So what is now housed in the 15 Broad/23 Wall Street block to where the FDNY was responding, if not any JPM? 23 Wall and 15 Broad Street were sold in 2003 for $100 million to Africa Israel & Boymelgreen

And the organization Africa Israel & Boymelgreen
broke up/ had a falling out back in 2007.

You may be waiting a long time. Every 5 minutes a new website carries the same story, yet still nothing as far as offcial reporting.

But the article is correct about the amount of Gold flowing out of JP Morgan.....JPM Eligible Gold Plummets By 66% In One Day To Just Over 1 Tonne. So something is happening, just not this.

You may be jumping to conclusions.....it could be an insider event....T t t take the money and run....and burn the paper trail.

Sounds like the missing money the day before 9/11.....then the pentagon was hit and lost its financial records stored in that empty wing?
