Hey Quake experts, I saw that some people were mentioning Utah, and I just saw they had another one, a 3.7.

Is this fracking, magma, normal or what?

I was just investigating that myself! I found an article that says the area is experiencing ground-water declines. I'm just not sure if the subsidence itself is what is being picked up on the seismos. I'm still trying to learn what I can

2 successive normal events(6 and 5.8), 2 successive strike-slips, 6.7(may go up from downgrade of 0.1 [NOAA PTWC] ; all tensors say 6.7) and 5.8.

Tonga/Samoa reverse of 5.7/5.8/5.9 USGS Body Wave/WPhase/GCMT

Finally put together a page on Garfagnana, Lucca, Italy 4.9Mw quake of 25/01/2013.
Most of the stuff was posted here anyway, I've added the Network Location map, GFZ MTS, and because there wasn't much showing on the historic maps I did a search on both INGV and ANSS and made a couple of maps to cover 1969-2005 and 2005-2013.
The area where the quake and aftershocks were at turns out to be quite active, all small stuff, but theres a heap of icons (events) that pretty much follows that SW to NE pattern of the Jan/Feb aftershocks in the historic data too.
The biggest quake I found was this one, and its not far from the EMSC and INGV locations for the 25/02/2013 one.

I note that it is very close to Lata - only 23km offshore. Certainly the biggest of the series this close in - I imagine the locals will be plocking themselves about now.

I said it is not over yet.... I have no idea what is happening there, but I think it will keep going for some time. We should expect some more M5- M7... at least for some more weeks

"Some of those islands wouldn't be a metre out of the sea and a wave of even 0. 9 of a metre would have a significant impact," said Red Cross Disaster Manager Tim McInerny. "People have nowhere to go, they will have to climb coconut trees to try and get away."

"Many people have no clothes at all, everything was washed away."

damn, how this is moving slowly arround the island.... maybe it will be a new atlantis soon.

Is there a possibility, that this island is a former vulcano coming back to live?

That is because they were the odd man out. All the others (EMSC and GFZ) had it at 7 or 7.1

Wow, sooo much activity around the Santa Cruz Islands, and not small quakes either. This don't look right at all.

Yes and No. There is a history of multiple Mag 6+ in the Santa Cruz islands (I was just preparing a chart when this last one went off) but the current activity is more in terms of both counts and energy that previous bouts.

You could even call it unprecedented in our extremely short historical span.

More than 3000 people are without shelter in the quake and tsunami-hit Santa Cruz island group in Solomon Islands, as significant aftershocks continue.

The death toll is up to 10.
I did find an article reporting a plane loaded with supplies did land later in the afternoon after the aborted flight carrying the PM returned to Honiara.

I don't think there is an antonym for elapsed, at least not that I can think of.

What about "Lead In Time"
trouble is we don't know they are foreshocks until the main shock hits
