This will be a thread dedicated to the Music of Mississippi, the influences of Blues and Jazz from Mississippi on America and indeed the World at large.

To start, such British groups as The Rolling Stones (Mick Jagger) were heavily influenced by Muddy Waters and Howlin Wolf (a blues singer from Mississppi) and it was his song "The Rolling Stones" in which they took their name. The Beatles also were influenced by my state's music.

Muddy Waters - Rollin' Stone

Muddy Waters & The Rolling Stones - Baby Please Don't Go

Runco's Weekly Music - Howlin' Wolf - Smokestack Lightnin'

In this thread I will be posting groups whom hail from Mississippi. Please post famous groups from your State (In America) Thanks.

Other notables Elvis Presley (Tupelo, MS)

Up to date. 3 Doors Down

Yes, sir. Mississippi Blues, Louisiana Jazz, and Appalachian bluegrass really are the origins of modern music.
Love me some Mississippi. Some of the ancestors came out of there.
