I really didn't know where to post this, but found it quite interesting and when viewing the photos quite moving, when looking into the faces I saw myself.

With everything in the world that is going on......or has gone on throughout history, call me naive, but i for one have always thought race was the absolute dumbest thing to dislike someone or a group for....the overall differences between racial groups is so small it really is irrelevant in the grand scheme of things......We as a society need to put the stupid stuff on a shelf and start worrying about the real problems in the world.

This just proves how blurred the racial lines are, how closely related we really are.

Yes...I agree it was interesting to read this....too bad we can't get obama's dna and do the same thing with it.

Actually, I hate to be "nit-picky", but...

Your title made a statement about DNA samples and all I saw were pictures.

Don't you think it would have been far more appropreate to have mentioned your post being about family photos.

Oh yes; I have never read where human DNA can be used to determine either sex, color of eyes, or race.

So far it is best used to determine relationships between available samples.

The only exceptions I have heard about is where they used specimens from a rented cars steering wheel a motel room to identify the 9/11 high jackers.

I must admit my not reading the article enough to catch the reference to the DNA samples being made available.

I stand corrected.

Oh. If we are all relate, you must be counting wwwwaaaayyyyy back. We traced our family back to the Norse in 615 AD. The family came here in 1653. This is why I don't identify myself as an immigrant. We were here before the US was established.
