Anybody else playing the lotto tonight? And tell your lottery stories

With the record jackpot of the mega millions lottery and many of americans playing the lottery tonight, I thought it might be good to create a thread on this, where you could post your numbers if you want and talk about the lottery.

If you haven't bought a ticket but plan to, wouldn't suggest putting in more than $5, it's probably a waste. But a few dollars could be a cheap source of entertainment, especially with a lot of your friends and family

I also thought this thread might be good for all of you to share stories you might have of people you know (or yourselves) winning the lottery. How it happened, what they bought, how they are now, etc.

As an experiment in magic I predict I will win. Was going through some crap and found a decade old mega-millions fill-out, scanned it today...$5 for a fantasy, its worth it considering a pack of smokes is $10.

I dont play the lotto or really gamble to be honest.

But here's a story for you, I used to work with a guy who liked hitting the casino, I would go with him after we finished jobs here and there. Before working with him I had never walked into a casino, and sure enough on our 3rd or 4th time we hit $15,000 on a slot machine, split the money in half, and I havent gambled since.

Cost me $12.50 a ticket from across the pond. So $25 all up plus 1 free bonus ticket, which is about the price of a pack 40s here lol

People say I'm greedy because I only play when its 100 million or over, but the reality is, I only want to win if I can make my family and friends lives easier too. The amount of money you would clear on this lottery would be enough to easily generate over 20 million a year in just interest. Imagine how much you could help people with that kind of money. We won $5 on the last drawing so I cashed that in and bought $2 more dollars worth for a total of 7 tickets. I've already got my Porsche built on the Porsche website, all I gotta do is click after I win, lol.

Two people I know won it. Both won approx $30 mil. gross

One (a couple) bought a huge house on the beach and expensive cars. Soon he was on drugs and seeing a hot young thing and she was taking a jet to vegas every weekend to gamble. You can guess how that worked out, - divorce, and ruin.

The other - an older guy bought a couple 100 acres of farm / hunting land. Put a very nice large log house on it. Bought a few toys ( new truck, atv, tractor, nice stuff for his house, etc). Then he was done. Invested the remainder and is living happily ever after on the returns.

As Dirty Harry said - a man's gotta know his limitations..

I propose a pact. If anyone in this thread wins a substantial amount, no idea how much, we should pledge to help out everyone else in the thread that also bought tickets.

I bought 3 tickets, but I never win. But I also know that I wouldnt win for sure if I didnt play. If I win, I will share some with all the above posters...
