I found this article while doing some research. In it 45 declared goals of a Communist takeover of the United States.

Communist Goals (1963) Congressional Record--Appendix, pp. A34-A35 January 10, 1963

Current Communist Goals EXTENSION OF REMARKS OF HON. A. S. HERLONG, JR. OF FLORIDA IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES Thursday, January 10, 1963 .

Mr. HERLONG. Mr. Speaker, Mrs. Patricia Nordman of De Land, Fla., is an ardent and articulate opponent of communism, and until recently published the De Land Courier, which she dedicated to the purpose of alerting the public to the dangers of communism in America.

At Mrs. Nordman's request, I include in the RECORD, under unanimous consent, the following "Current Communist Goals," which she identifies as an excerpt from "The Naked Communist," by Cleon Skousen:

[From "The Naked Communist," by Cleon Skousen]

You can read the 45 stated goals of a communist takeover here.

Sinister ulterior motives and hostility towards the American way of life?

For those of you who think that Capitalism is the root of all evil consider this was passed through the halls of Congress in 1963. To give you more perspective this is what was going on at the time.

Now, I am not saying that the U.S. is under some kind of Communist control, but what I do find frightening, is of the 45 issues listed, nearly all of them have come to pass. Remember this was in January 1963.

In 1963 the news media showed women burning their bras as the women's liberation movement took off with the publishing of "The Feminine Mystique" by Betty Friedan. Martin Luther King was jailed in April and civil unrest was being brought to the forefront. On August 28th the media brought us live coverage of the march on Washington and Dr. Kings famous "I had a dream" speech. The Cuban missile crisis found its way in to our homes and our nation was gearing up for conflict.

By September of 1963 we had lost some very influential people, Pope John XXIII, Robert Frost, and country legend Patsy Cline, to name a few. In the early hours of November 22nd we learned of the quiet passing of C.S. Lewis and hours later we were brought to our knees when President John F. Kennedy was assassinated and our nation mourned.

So you see, while long since forgotten, 1963 could very well have been, one of the most important years since our founding fathers provided us with the Constitution of the United States. Which brings me to one final and extremely important decision that was made during this most provocative year.

On June 17, 1963 the U.S. Supreme Court concluded that any Bible reciting or prayer, in public schools, was deemed unconstitutional.

While American's have endured great prosperity over the past 40 years we have also lost our moral compass and direction. In reviewing the research, data supports 1963 as a focal point, demonstrating a downward slope in our moral and social decline through 2001.

Certainly, one would have to agree that all of these events have had a profound impact on the way our current social structure has been changed. Personally, if I had to choose one specific event that has demonstrated the demoralization of our country, it would have to be the decision of the U.S Supreme Court in June of 1963.

We are now living in Dictatorship of the proletariat.
en.wikipedia.org...

In Marxist socio-political thought, the dictatorship of the proletariat refers to a socialist state in which the proletariat, or the working class, have control of political power. The term, coined by Joseph Weydemeyer, was adopted by the founders of Marxism, Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels, in the 19th century. The use of the term "dictatorship" is controversial, and does not refer to the Classical Roman concept of the dictatura (the governance of a state by a small group with no democratic process), but instead to the Marxist concept of dictatorship (that an entire societal class holds political and economic control, within a democratic system[citation needed]).
Following on from the theories of Marx and Engels, Marxists believe that such a socialist state is an inevitable step in the evolution of human society. They argue that it is a transitional phase that emerges out of the "dictatorship of the bourgeoisie", or capitalist society, in which the wealthy classes own the means of production and exploit the working classes for the generation of private profit, and that it will itself eventually come to be replaced by an entirely classless, stateless form of society known as pure communism.

So you still think capitalism is the root of all evil?

Many of you were probably not alive at that time. If so it is pointless to argue that free market capitalism does not work and should be abolished as neither you or I had such a privilege to live under such a system, not in this lifetime.

Well Communism certainly isn't the root of all evil. Real Communism benefits everyone, so I don't know why the word Communism is used for China, and in the article you posted. These are corrupted versions of Communism, just like we have never lived in real Capitalism.

Also, I agree with the last poster, to many "isms" in the world today. How about we just get rid of everything that makes someone have the power to tell someone else what to do, and get on wth being "free" in the ACTUAL sense of the word.

In 1963, I was a sophomore in high school just back from Christmas vacation when this was read into the Congressional Record! Our civics teacher (yes they actually taught real civics back then. Not the Socialist propaganda that passes for education today) spent nearly 3 months of classes discussing (not preaching) with the class about exactly what Communism was and who was involved (countries and people that dared to declare their political ties then) within the US at the time. It is sad to see just how we have fallen and ignored this direct threat to our liberties and our way of life. The common citizen is finally starting to wake up but there are also too many people who can't see just how bad socialism is and what it does to the human spirit!

Yeah, we don't need any more isms.
We need freedom.
We need to reign in the elite class
We need equal opportunities all around, not just for people of stature (with money).

We need less power in corporate hands
And more power in the peoples hands.

No group of people should have all the power and money and control over the rest of the population.

Im not against making money, not at all. But who the hell needs to make more than a million a year? thats over 15x more than i make and i provide a legit service, not sitting in a chair signing a couple papers and playing golf.

Some of the top CEO's make over 10 million a year. And their employees make..what?

Kinda off topic, sorry.
Communism would only make the corporate machine even more profitable to the elite.

No you're not.
You're not having Capitalism either but what you have is definitely not the working class having control of political power.

This just in.

New space-arms control initiative draws concern
www.washingtontimes.com...

The Obama administration is launching a new space arms-control initiative that critics say will lead to restrictions on U.S. military activities in space, a key U.S. strategic war-fighting advantage.

Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton is expected to announce the initiative as early as Tuesday. The plan will be built on work contained in a European Union draft code of conduct for space that the Pentagon and State Department have criticized as too restrictive.

Mind you I am not pro war, but, I am not pro stupid either.

There is nothing per se wrong with communism...

Any form of government or economic system works about as well as refects the quality of the people implementing it.

A dictatorship or communist system can work just fine if the implementors are people of honor.

We in the US are seeing the results of even a representative republic / capitalist system when it is implemented by trash.

The Four Horsemen won't be real people, they are metaphors for famine, disease, natural disasters, wars etc etc.

First of all there is no such thing as pure Communism. Human nature being what it is, circumvents any and all advantages of the dictum's of this failed social idea.
Second, every where this failed idea has been tried, the people suffer so much and become so displaced of their basic rights that tyranny becomes the norm as those in power force those who have none to slave at the behest of the powerful!!
Crony Capitalism that has developed in the US is also tyranny at the behest of the powerful. The reason a true Republic has been circumvented is because people get lazy and 'go along to get along'!
They both eventually fail because of ineptness and ignorance. The 'dumbing down' of our citizens and future citizens is encouraged by the Elitists and the Progressive Socialists to further their agenda!
Knowledge is the key and those who think it's a foolish idea to learn anything other than what they think they need to know to survive in the streets will always be played as the 'Victims' and as separate of the whole of society!

When people are referring to Communism they are not refereeing to the "Text Book Communism" or to the "Ideal Communism". They are referring to the people who call themselves communist's.

And those people who call themselves "Communist's", tend to be the most revolting, sociopathic, evil, contrarian type of people imaginable.

Communist's and their supporters really are the most evil people you can imagine. They are perpetual bullies, who think their way is the only way. Instead of creating their own communist communities they have to force communism on people who don't want it. They are ideological rapist's. They use the force the the state to hold you down and then they proceed to intellectually and spiritually rape you over and over again. Until you give in or until you die.

Don't be a rapist, don't be a communist.
