Ron Paul Supporters hacked into the Twitter Accounts of musical artists No Doubt, Nicole Scherzinger and Rise Against to SPAM fake support for him. Seems they thought the Kelly Clarkson endorsement was so successful, they decided to try this tack..

And as regards the Kelly Clarkson Twitter "Ron Paul bump", turns out that was fabricated, too...

Additional Source

Shortly after Ms. Clarkson’s Paul endorsement, a number of news stories surfaced claiming that the endorsement had boosted sales of the American Idol winner’s new album. However, the stories turned out to be misguided. Heavy promotion of Ms. Clarkson’s new album on iTunes was responsible for the singer’s soaring album sales.

Citing Nielsen SoundScan data and sources at RCA, the Hollywood Reporter writes that “little evidence exists to support the theory that Clarkson’s praise for Paul helped her sales.” In fact, the Hollywood Reporter argues that Ms. Clarkson’s album sales actually dropped compared to the previous week.

I know there are GREAT Ron Paul supporters. I have met some and talked with some here. But there is also a group of people (the most vocal and aggressive) that are actually doing a disservice to Paul... I don't know how someone could support Ron Paul for his honesty and integrity and then do something this dishonest and slimy... It's confusing.

People wonder why some are "afraid" of Ron Paul supporters. This is one reason. And they give Paul a bad reputation. They are some of his biggest enemies, IMO.

Blah ! thats not good at all

this is a very counter-productive measure .

Last election Ron Paul had some great down to earth supporters ,

this election its almost like the tools of the world were fed some ron paul information and thought they would take it on there own hands to do things like this .

Who's could be one of the other candidates fans doing this , to make ron paul supporters look like radical hackers.

But this is def , not the way to do things , hacking other people is wrong!

to the hackers , thanks but no thanks.
punk kids!

It is only someone's opinion that Kelly Clarkson did not get a bump from Paul supporters, and it is in fact wrong. I for one, made a purchase for this reason, and because she is a great singer. Great values.
Additionally, just because someone claims to be a Paul supporter doesn't make them one. Have you ever heard of false flags? Certainly, it could have been a Paul supporter, there are quite a few of them. Perhaps even one has committed a real crime....

You do know that Ron Paul supporters are just going to claim this is actually a Ron Paul hater that is doing this to make Ron Paul look bad...right???

This is their playbook...only good surronds Ron Paul...anything bad is either a lie, taken out of context, a hit piece, or it is sabbatoge by someone who doesn't like Ron Paul.

Ron Paul and his supporters have a personal responsibility issue.

Can I just point out that I called it and they are following the playbook exactly???

Three responses from Ron Paul supporters...all suggesting it could of been someone else just trying to make Ron Paul look bad.

The military-industrial complex and corporate interests do not want to see Ron Paul in power. They are going to do anything and everything they can to discredit him and his supporters. This is a fact, whether you like it or not.

It would seem that those who are against liberty, freedom, limited government, and the true American way as outlined in the Constitution and Bill of Rights, are the ones with responsibility issues.

Why are you wasting forum space by demeaning Ron Paul supporters? If you don't like Ron Paul or his supporters, then go do something productive other than sitting on a forum and making post after post that demeans other people because of their beliefs or ideas.

I say good for them but bad for being exposed. Politics are dirty. This was only supporters, actual politicians from other camps do far worse. Government is the biggest bunch of hypocritical cry baby poor sports in the country.

Star
This is true. And I understand they want Mitt.
Ron Paul may as well be Rick Perry as far as the GOP establishment is concerned.

But people... we have all seen the overzealous supporters out there. Those of you with level heads probably would LOVE to stop them. Wouldn't you? I know I would.

Anyone denying that this is Ron Paul supporters hasn't really thought it out, IMO. Use some logic: If someone wanted to DISHONESTLY do some damage to Ron Paul's reputation, there are MANY more effective and wide-reaching actions to take... These supporters believed the Kelly Clarkson hype and wanted to repeat it. They're probably 13 and didn't think it through, either...

Can someone please link me to me to an official twitter statement that states this occurred?

I love how the man's supporters are being called out, because the deformation and slander on Ron Paul isn't working. I love how the attackers are going after the Ron Paul supporters, because Ron Paul's attack would be considered unfounded libel and slanderous, while his supporters are fair game.

Again, where is the proof?

A media that invented terminology for Paul supporters as being Paul-bots and Paul-tards are pushing a media hit pieces that have no official Twitter statement, that only includes the charges of Hollywood Musicians from the the same record label, Interscope.

Odd that this only happened with Interscope artists.

Silly Hackers... Why didn't they go after artists on different labels? Why only musicians? Why not people that have more followers like Ashton Kutcher? Or why not just hack every body. But not, just a handful of artists.

Do you people actually believe every person on Twitter handles their own personal twitter account? In most cases with the famous, it's an assistant or Public relations person. The more famous the person, the more likely it's not that person.

Why only musicians from Interscope? Interscope is a conglomerate of Universal Music Group, which is then owned by Vivendi.

In effect Vivendi (a Company most people have never even heard of) owns Interscope... So who was the first news agency to report this hack? Rolling Stone.

Who owns Rolling Stone? Who oversees Rollingstone.com? Follow the trail and it's.... Vivendi.

www.vivendi.com...

Yeah, no connection there (sarcasm).

Also odd that every account that was hacked, tweeted that that they were indeed hacked almost immediately after being hacked.

I thought hacking involved guessing a password. I guess the hackers where kind enough not to change the passwords involved. So nice of them.

I hope that this is investigated impartially by Twitter. I really do...

If this is the best people have against Dr. Paul, you're doing it wrong.

I won't deny that this is probably some over-zealous supporters, but the point of my post is that there are too many people like OutKast Searcher that are denying that Paul is dangerous to the "establishment", and there are a great many that will do what they can to make Paul and his supporters fail.

Oh, I fully admit that Ron Paul is dangerous.

He threatens the discrimination free society I live in...I like being able to take a road trip without having to check if the gas stations on my route will serve me based on whatever it is they may want to discriminate against me. Maybe I'm traveling in the south and they don't like us "northeners"...so they aren't going to sell me gas. Thanks Ron Paul...but no thanks.

I also enjoy not choking on polluted air...but Ron Paul thinks those silly "laws" that prevent corporations from pollluting the air I breath just aren't fair to those corporations (I guess he thinks corporations have rights too). But don't worry...Ron Paul says that if we remove those regulations...that these corporations will "self regulate" themselves. You see....Ron Paul tells us that the corporations really want to do the right thing...they just don't like to be told to do it by the government. That is why despite laws, corporations try their hardest to get around the laws to continue polluting our environment. But that will all go away if we just let them self regulate.

Yes...I fully admit...Ron Paul and his insane ideas are dangerous to my "establishment"...that establishment being an evolved society that has said no thanks to racism, sexism, and a host of other things that Ron Paul claims are peoples "rights" and "freedoms".

More gas for the flames...

I do not know the real answer, and I'm not pretending to, so I'm making no accusations. Let the video speak for itself.

However, consider the general nature of the various GOP candidate supporters... Ron Paul supporters tend to be, in general, young, sharp, computer literate.

My expectation is that the type of people supporting the other candidates are moribund zombies that have heard of that whole computer fad...

So given the question of which group is more likely to have the technical expertise to pull this off, Ron Paul supporters or (for instance) Newt Gingrich supporters, my answer would have to be the Ron Paul group.

They all have Motive. They all probably have about equal Opportunity. But the RP folks are more likely to have the Means.

I see the resident Marxist/Socialist/Communist forum members are already busy at work making sad and sorry attempts to discredit Dr, Paul. There are headlines now showing that even Democrats are supporting Dr. Paul over any Democrat candidate. The "Don't take my entitlements away" crowd are getting scared and resorting to some pretty sad tactics.

Get used to it Libs, REAL change is coming and it WON'T resemble the hand-out utopia you've been advocating!

That what occured...that the hacking and posting Ron Paul endorsements occured???

I don't think it is in doubt that it occured...all the artists have tweets about their accounts being hacked on their twitter accounts.

twitter.com...#!/riseagainst

We were hacked. As you would all assume, We DO NOT support Ron Paul.

twitter.com...#!/nodoubt

Our Twitter account was hacked last night. No political endorsements at this time. Love, No Doubt

Are you honestly trying to say that this event didn't happen at all???
