What would you say is definitively the most famous pop song of all time.?

Ok, so i was having a sad little middle age groove along with some classic hits from the eighties tonight, and it got me thinking, is there a most famous pop song? is there one that stands out? im probably wrong because there are so many different styles of music. But if ETs showed up on your door and you had to give them the best example of pop music there is, what would it be? Of course it start in the 1950,s, and granted there are diffrent styles; rock, reggae, metal etc etc, but if you had to pick just one, what would it be?
Id like to start the ball rolling, but my head is jammed with about 20 different songs I wanna say Stairway, then i wanna say Thriller I wanna say Atomic by Blondie, Why did i start this thread, maybe i should take up knitting???

Worldwide I would say maybe Beatles "Can't buy me love"
US I would say an Elvis song maybe "Houndog"

Just my thoughts not really my favorite pop songs of all time but I like them.

Aint it difficult though, im just watching Queen at Live aid, and theyre immense, i think its impossible to choose one song that defines the ultimate pop song.

I second with Thriller. Even bushmen know Michael Jackson. Can't say I see it as a bad thing though. Great song...great video. Mike was using zombies before it was cool.

Hands down I would say Relax , Frankie goes to Hollywood ! The op said she was reminiscing about the 80s , I think that song defined the 80s the best IMO . I remember being in the clubs and when that song came on it seemed like everyone hit for the dance floor !!
