Can members give up to 5 Stars on one thread of choice once per week...if not 10?

Not really...go to a post you have given a star to and try and give it another....same goes with flags...just can not be done...the question is clear in my opinion!

It is still possible to go through a thread starring a whole series of posts. If the thread has fifty replies, that could be fifty stars.
I was wondering if that was what the OP wanted to limit.
Hence the request for clarification.

No. Threads don't receive stars, posts do. Threads receive flags. Your allotment is one flag per thread (which can be removed if you wish) and one star per post. Them's the rules.

if you are suggesting the ability to award 5 or 10 starts per week - in what ever manner you wish [ wether 1 each to 10 posts or all 10 on a single post ] - i would agree

if you want to award 5 or 10 in a block to an unlimited number of posts / week - then no - the star / flag system is already IMHO fatally flawed

I agree, the system is flawed. We need to be able to give negative flags and stars.

The only improvement would be a plus and minus, flag and star s).

Other than that ATS is a really good site!

You can star one post, one time.

I see no reason or need to start the same post more than once. It is just meant as a pat on the back so to speak. Other than that, there is no real value

But that is just my humble opinion.

Take what you need and leave the rest.

Nah, I would never want a negative star and flag system. That would be abused greatly and people would be using the negative stars and flags simply because they disagree.... It would discourage people from sharing their opinions openly and honestly.

If you like something, flag i or star it. If not, don't and rebut it in a post or thread.
