Man as food. Could you to survive?

The year is 2012 and the doomsayers were right. The Earth has been left in ruins. You have managed to survive. You have not eaten for almost 3 weeks. You are weak and about to die. You have the option to eat a fellow human to survive. Could you do it?


I am not sure if I could. I hope I am never in that situation

I am going say easily...I could eat human meat if that's what it came to!

I'll take a slap of white meat and a slab of dark...both medium rare please!

It depends on the state of your fellow human, if they are in a poor state and will be dying soon then maybe, if they are already dead then definetly, but if they are alive and reasonably healthy with a strong chance of survival then definetly not.

I wouldn't do it. There is always hunting and fishing which I know how to do.

Ever see the movie the road??? That's pretty much what happens. World ends, no food. Cannibalism.

It doesn't say how the world ended and how all the animals and plants died. I'm thinking meteor. Creating a huge dust cloud and blocking the sun.

Otherwise many other apocalyptic scenarios still offer the possibility of food.

Its an interesting question. I personally wouldn't want to eat human because I detest humans [in general with obvious exceptions], especially their feet I. However on the other hand, if the human would be a clean person who died for example during a true disaster and they wouldn't mind me eating them, I could probably get past my disgust and eat them if my own life and that of loved ones would depend on it. After all we are meat just like any other animal, nothing special or holy or untouchable.

With all the hep-c, aids, super herpes etc. Who would take a chance on eating a human?? Especially one that has been scavenging around a post apocalyptic wasteland getting cut with jagged rusty metal and who may be rife with disease.

Hunger is a funny thing.
Yes I could do it.
I would even go so far as collecting as much fat from the body as possible in order to use for other things like candles,lube etc

If it came to life or death and if I didnt eat another human I would starve in a matter of hours then yes I would be willing to take the risk, but as with survival, it all depends on the situation.

I would only eat the people who suggested we should eat people.

I swear I've seen this same thread 4 or 5 times. Why do people have such a morbid fascination with cannibalism? It's like they are just waiting for a post apocalyptic world where they can eat people - but in the mean time fantasizing about it will have to do.

Maybe because it has been a fact throughout human history? I mean come on, cannibalism has been around for hundreds of thousands of years.

Would i do it through choice? No. Not like i feel the urge for a bit of thigh when im going to the shops (well, maybe i do but only when my lady isn't watching! ).

Would i through hunger with no other options? Absolutely. Wouldn't even think twice about it. In fact, when the SHTF i already have a few people in my sights!

Ghetto but much? Or is it munch? I suppose I would allow others to eat me if it came down to it, but will not eat people myself as I really am allergic to meat/flesh.
